Description

This is a 1946 Harley FL Knucklehead chopper. It is running, idable, nd comes with a clear Texas title in my name. It is titled as a 1946 Harley FL. The frame is a 1948 wishbone Panhead frame that's been raked and molded. The sidecar loops are missing, ut the brake crossover, nd axle plates are intact. The front end is a Jammer springer with a 21" Harley single disk wheel and Harley 1974-1977 caliper. I recently cleaned and put new seals in the caliper. The front tire is an Avon Speedmaster with some sidewall cracking. I replaced the tube in it a few years ago. The headlight is an old Bates with the mountingriveted on the outside. The rear wheel is a 16" with a chrome stepped Star Hub and drum brake. The hub has play and probably should be rebuilt. The tire is in usable condition. The transmission was rebuilt a few years ago. The transmission case is 1940 to 1955, nd if I remember right was dated 1948, r 1949. It's been a few years since I've had it out, o I could be wrong. The kicker cover is mid 1948 to early 1952. The ratchet top is 1959 and later. The oil tank is stock with good chrome and a few small dings. The seat is Drag Specialties, nd the passenger pegs are Anderson. The motor is a 1946 with a replaced left case. The case looks like a stock replacement to me, ut I don't know for sure. There's a skid plate under the motor so I don't know what the belly numbers are. The heads are large port with o-ring intake inserts. The front rocker box is dated 1945, nd the rear is dated 1942. The heads have some broken fins. The cylinders are aftermarket. The cam cover has a small chip at the top generator mounting hole which is covered by a small piece of metal. The generator is a Harley 32E six volt which I had rebuilt a few years ago. I completely rewired the bike a year or two ago. The cutout relay is an old Dixie aftermarket. The timer is, think, anhead. The motor starts one or two kicks cold or hot with the SU carb installed. It had a butterfly Keihin on it when I got it and it didn't start anywhere near as well. Like all old Harley's this Knucklehead leaks.I don't ride it as much as I should and when I do it sumps into the primary, t then leaks out of the primary onto the garage floor. It has other leaks but the sumping issue is the worst of them. I haven't been into the motor so I don't what condition it's in internally. I have no idea of the milage on the bike. The battery will hold a charge if you ride it semi regularly, ut if you let it sit for a couple of weeks it will need a recharge. This motorcycle is in Los Angeles and after purchase I can deliver it for free anywhere in the L.A. area. You can call me with questions: 626 327-3944, y name is Andrew.
