Description

You are bidding on a 1952 Harley Davidson Servi-Car.  I am selling 2 of these Servi-Cars for a good friend. He had it set up to donate this one and another one to a local historic foundation that he has donated other historic vehicles to in the past but he found out that all they were going to do with these Servi-cars was sell them. so he decided to do that himself. Please see my other auctions for the other Servi-Car.  This Servi-Car has been restored to very close to original condition. My buddy bought this Servi-Car in the condition it is now in. The bike was restored by a previous owner. The bike starts right up on the 1st or 2nd kick and runs fine.  These engines are equipped with a dry sump oiling system and presumably there is some sort of check valve that stops oil from flowing from the tank when the engine is not running. When my buddy got the bike the oil kept draining from the tank to the ground. There was nobody he knew that had experience with these engines so he had a shut off valve installed in the oil line. Someone experienced with these engines could easily fix the check valve (or whatever it uses) I am sure. But for now you just turn off the valve when the engine is off. The bike has a 3 speed transmission with reverse. The bike leaks a little oil but someone experienced with these motors could remedy that I am sure. There are no broken fins on the cylinders and everything else regarding the engine appears to be good to go. The bike has holes in the trunk lid used for mounting a padded passenger seat. This seat is not available in this auction. The winning bidder must arrange pickup or shipping of the bike. A $1. 00 non refundable deposit made through PayPal is required at completion of the auction. The balance may be paid in cash upon pickup or by cashier's check 14 days before bike is picked up or by wire transfer directly into my account at least 7 days prior to pickup.

The question has been asked as to whether this is the original color of the bike. The answer is that this is unknown. My buddy bought the bike just as you see it. he did not ask the previous owner about the color. The question has been asked about help with shipping cost. The answer is that if the sale price rises above $11. 00 my buddy will kick in $500 towards the cost of shipping. The question has been asked as to how fast does the bike go. The answer is that my buddy has had it to 45 here in Tahoe and it had more to go. Most of these seem to go 55 or 60. depending on gearing and which carburetor is installed. They seem to cruise at 50+ with no problem.
