Description

For sale my beloved CB500 due to relocation (nowhere to keep a bike at the new house).  This is simply a fantastic bike for commuting. twisty B road fun or as a first big bike. It's a confidence giver but it is also damn good fun - so easy to ride whilst giving you all the feel and sensation you could want from a bike of this type. It may be 13 years old but I'd say it still has all of its horses and the engine and running is mint; gets me to a ton up no problem (on a private airstrip of course Officer) on the rare occasions I've given it "the beans" and I'm a twenty stone. six foot six monster. Basically the bike is fab and running wise shows no sign of its age or miles - started her up to get her out of the garage for the photos and she fired straight off having been stood since mid August (when my insurance expired - hence no tax). As soon as you take one of these beauties for a spin you can see why commuters. couriers. riding schools and MCN love them (MCN gives the CB500 4stars out of 5 overall and the engine 5 stars - worth reading their review). Goods bits - brand new tyres (front & back) at the last MOT (which it sailed through) so only a few hundred miles on them. damn reliable (as Honda tends to be). nippy and easy to use and maintain (not that you'll do much of that last one). Now for the "not so good" bits - you've already seen the pictures and "yes" she isn't as pretty as she could be with dinks and marks as well as the metal work looking rough with surface rust etc. Basically she has been used in all weathers by previous owners (myself included) as the CB500 is a competent winter bike but she is now showing it (bless her) and not as pretty as she could be. Also you can see that she has some proper miles on her clock but I think this is why she performs so well - no machinery lasts well if it is only used sporadically (like a road race bike) and I'd say she has been well maintained. Finally I sometimes have issue with the indicator switch not turning the indicators on. not sure if I am a bit ham-fisted or if it needs adjusting but it has been present for about a year now and not been that much of a pain (otherwise I'd have sorted it). Sale will be by cash and test rides are welcome with a grand in my hand. No reserve and no offers - this auction will run to the end. Delivery could be arranged locally at a push but I would have to charge so message me. Absolutely no tyre kickers please - you bid to buy not to dick people about (ooh grumpy). Thanks for reading
