This is my wife’s CBR 400 Aero that we bought back in 2011. At this time all the fluids (oil. brake and coolant ) were replaced along with the air and oil filters. Shortly after two new Avon Road-Rider tyres were purchased and a new battery fitted. The carburettors were also cleaned and balanced. The bike flew through the MOT and has done every year since. It has had a new chain and sprockets along with a set of spark plugs fitted about six months ago.

I couldn’t believe how well the CBR went and handled for such an old bike. the engine (which features gear driven cams) is sweet as a nut revving to the red line with ease. It is such good fun to ride. very comfortable and quick enough to keep up with the big boys in the real world.

To be fair. the CBR is let down by its fairing/plastics. Although complete the whole bike could do with a bit of cosmetic surgery to become a looker once more. The bike has been re-sprayed black some time ago and a non-standard sticker kit applied. Some of the fixing lugs are missing. relying on cable ties to hold them together. The plastics have various scratches and some fairly large scrapes in the side panel lowers which I have tried to show in the pictures. There is also a small dent in the tank which is hardly noticeable.

In short. this is a great little reliable sports bike that can ridden as is. for years to come or is still is basically good enough to be “done up” to become a future classic. We are only selling as we have a new addition and can not warrant owning two bikes.

We live close to Oxford and actively encourage you to look at the bike before bidding. The CBR is being sold with no reserve with the highest bidder winning. All I ask is the winner leaves a ?50 deposit by PayPal with the remainder paid in cash on collection.
