Here we have an interesting little trials bike that I bought a few months ago to use whilst I rebuilt my Honda TL. but I never got around to using it and the other bike is now up and running. It has a Honda XL185 engine but the cylinder is marked 124cc. so it's difficult to know the actual capacity without opening up the engine. The frame is a modified mid '80s XL125R as far as I can tell. I don't know what the tank is from and the seat. side panels and exhaust are clearly home made. It has wide foot rests which are set low and back to give quite a modern stance when riding. The bike runs and rides well enough. There is a bit of engine noise that I think is probably down to cam chain adjustment - nothing serious. When I got the bike the front mudguard was broken which turned out to be the guard hitting the exhaust or frame when the forks were fully compressed. To get round this I fitted fork yokes from a Suzuki GS125 as these give more offset and cure the problem. However. they really need the stem from the original bottom yoke fitting as currently the bearings don't fit quite right - it can be ridden as it is but there's a bit of play in the bearings. I've also fitted a brand new Michelin front tyre and new front mudguard. It's clearly a bike you could ride for fun as it is. or develop it further to compete in twin shock trials. If I were keeping it I'd lower the gearing a bit. sort the steering stem. then look at shedding more weight with alloy wheel rims etc. Please remember that you bid to buy.
