Selling my 1986 Honda VF1000R. These superbikes were only made for a few years which makes them highly collectable. They are becoming harder and harder to find in good condition. I am the 3rd owner of the bike which I purchased in 2011. The bike has been garaged by all owners. There is no fading of the paint. plastic or gauges. The bike has aftermarket Kerker exhaust. I have the original exhaust which is in good condition. I had the cooling system flushed in 2011. There are flush mount directionals installed but I have all the original ones. Given the bike is 30 years old. there are a few blemishes on the fairings. The rear seat cowling has a broken tap. This happened when I replaced the battery last year. The front fender has a small crack that isn't very noticeable. I have a brand new original fender still in the box that will come with it. It was never installed since the crack was so minor. The handle bars have been flipped for a less aggressive ride. The sprocket was replaced by the original owner with either 1 less tooth or 1 more tooth. Sorry don't really know. I have the original 17 tooth sprocket. The rear shock looses its air pressure after sitting for a while. I have not looked into the issue. I would just fill it up to 40-43psi during the summer months. It seems to hold pressure for awhile. The tool kit was removed from the bike but I have the original box and tools. The bike comes with the original exhaust. directionals. reflectors. tool kit. owners manual. repair manual. stickers. magazine featuring the 1985 VF1000R. fender and the original spare key which still has the rubber cover over it. Please see pictures and YouTube video for details. You can find the video by searching Classic VF. Again because the bike is 30 years old. I suggest you have a mechanic look over the bike as I am not a mechanic. The bike is being sold as is. Buyer is responsible for shipping. Payment of $500. 00 (non-refundable) via PayPal is required within 24 hours of end of auction. I will accept either cash. bank check or electronic transfer. Transfer must clear before I will release the bike or title. The bike is listed locally so I have the right to end the listing early if it sells elsewhere before close of auction. If you have any specific questions or want to see any detailed pictures. I am happy to provide them to you. Thanks for looking.
