Description

Rare barn find! 1974 Honda MT250 two stroke. All original. Runs looks like new inside cylinder.I am a certified Honda tech and purchased this bike as a winter project. When I got it I was suprised how clean it was and how little it needed. I put a new battery in it cleaned the carb and with new fuel it started on the third kick after setting for years. The points are original as is everything else on the bike but the speedometer and tachometer which were missing when I purchased it. The tires areweather checkedand need replaced. The injection pump for the oil was disconnected but all parts are still there. I premixed the fuel.So what does it need to be perfect.A new headlight speedometer and tachometer cables oil injection line from tank to pump and after setting in my garage for three years a new needle and seat. I started it and keep the battery fresh on the shelf but the original 41 year old needle has started seeping and it is running very rich now. A new needle and seat set is $15.Why am I selling it?I don't have the time to cherry it out and after restoring my Suzuki TM185 for my wife she has now decided not to ride anymore. I work 7 days a week and my son wants to start restoring his 1973 Cuda so needless to say it's probably not going to get done anytime soon. Time for someone to appreciate what it is and give it a good home. It's a classy bike. Still has the plates from 1976 when it was last stickered and probably ridden. Other than a couple dents in the tank as the pics shows it is as clean and low time MT250 as you will find anywhere. The engineabsolutelylooks new and it ran well before I let it set. Tank is clean and free from rust no corrosion in the mag case and I did change the oil but it was like new when I did. Air filter still great shape. An awesome barn find survivor. The guy I bought it from said it had between 1000-1500 miles on it butcouldn'tfind the speedometer and tach. I beleive he was straight on that statement as it is clean. If it were not for the dents in the tank it would look like new.Cash or Pay Pal only. Payment due at end of auction.YOU MUST MAKE YOUR OWN SHIPPING OR PICKUP ARRANGEMENTS. I DO NOT HAVE TIME FOR THAT.PLEASE LOOK AT PICTURES. I TRIED TO REPRESENT IT WELL FROM ALL ANGLES. SOME PICS ARE AS IT CAME TO ME BEFORE I INSTALLED THE TACH AND SPEEDO I BOUGHT FROM EBAY. OTHER THAN THAT IT IS EXACTLY LIKE I FIRST SAW IT. I HAVE NEVER WASHED IT OR DEGREASED IT.PLEASE CHECK OUT MY FEEDBACK. I AM HONEST AND WANT YOU TO BE SATISFIED!DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU ARE SINCERE OF THE PURCHASE. I WILL DO MY BEST TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS PRIOR TO YOUR BIDDING.ALL SALES FINAL--THERE IS NO TITLE FOR THIS MACHINE. LOST OVER THE YEARS.THANK YOU!
