Description

Here’s a 1971 CB750, his one is a real warrior. I bought it in 2007 and rode it as it sits for two years before pickling her and storing her under a tarp. She was going to be an easy restoration project for when I retired (one of too many). Unfortunately I had to retire a few years early due to medical issues. My project priorities have changed so now I need to send this sweetheart to an owner who will give her the attention she deserves.

The bike runs good and could be ridden as is, he tires are old and weathered but still have lots of tread. I took it on a couple of 350-400 mile day trips and she ran fine. If I could still handle a bike at low speeds I’d keep her ‘as is’ to putt putt around town on. But I can’t so she’s up for auction. The bikes big problems are;

  • It needs a starter, his one drags down even with a jumper battery. It kick starts in one or two kicks even when cold.

  • There is a crack in the left engine cover (dynamo cover), t leaks oil. I put a red solo cup under the drip and empty that cup into the oil bag on occasion. It leaked a little over a quart in the four years it sat under the tarp.

  • Those pesky plastic side covers are missing.

  • The engine pieces that were custom chromed all those years ago are showing their age, itting etc

  • The tank, was going to repair it using a stud welder/slide hammer kit

  • I’ve been convincing my self for the last year and a half this is the right thing to do.

    I got it ready for ebay in June 2013. I un pickled it, squirt of Marvel in each plug hole, alf a can of Sea Foam in a fresh gallon of 92octane and a fresh bag of oil. Three kicks and it was running, ust like it did when I shut it off in 2009. I took most of these pictures then but I couldn’t coerce my self into listing her until now. . So if you’re serious bid away. Look at the pictures before you ask any questions. . Thanks added a few new pics I took this am 2 hours and she could be running don't let this one slip away I have a bunch of spare parts that I will make available to the winning bidder before I list them in another auction. bid now bid large bid often
