Description

You are looking at a 1980 Honda CX500 Deluxe. This two owner bike has only 23,594 miles on it and has been well taken care of. I recently bought this bike from a retired policeman who brought to our shop for repairs. He decided he was done with bikes and we made a deal. The bike needed the water pump seal replaced and the shift shaft seal replaced, oth were leaking. I replaced them both, hanged the oil and filter and have rode the bike about 50 miles. The engine starts runs and sounds great. The transmission and clutch both work as they should along with the final drive. The tires are older but have good tread. The front brakes are in good working order. The rear brake works fine but squeals when first applied, ost likely from glazed shoes which will need replaced. The fork seals are just beginning to leak and will need replaced too. The battery is a new AGM maintenance free type battery. The electric start and charging system are in good working order. The bike has an older two into one header and sounds great. The seat cover is a newer aftermarket replacement. All of the gauges are in good working order and the color is still very bright. The paint is all original and in fair condition with little fading. The fuel tank has a dent on the top right side ( see photo ). The left side cover is missing the badge and has a tab broken at the bottom ( see photo ) and was repaired with wire and a spring. The bike has a windjammer fairing and Vetter hard bags that are removable. It also has crash bars on the front along with the cylinder head guards. At the rear of the bike it has a Hondaline luggage rack installed. This is a very solid bike and can be ridden as is or can be modified to make a very cool custom bike. I have a clear Missouri title in my name in hand for the winning bidder. Feel free to ask questions or to come by and see it in person. This bike will have no reserve so bid to win! Thank you and good luck.
