Up for your consideration is a 1984 Honda Goldwing Interstate with 39xxx miles. I am going to tell everything I know about this bike. I bought it from a friend who was having financial problems, o didn't really want it when I got it. I thought he would buy it back but he did not. I gave him $1500 for it knowing it had a bad magneto, ut didn't know what it would cost to have it replaced. It is well over $1000 to have this done at my local Honda dealer. So after it sat in my garage for the past couple of years I did some checking online and found what is called a "poor boy conversion". This basically bypasses the magneto and installs an alternator on the bike. The kit to do this is about $500, o I ordered it and did the conversion. (you can Google poor boy conversion for a Goldwing and see what is involved)Installed a new battery and the bike is up and running. It definitely needs a tune up, robably due to all the time it has been sitting. When first started, t smokes a littlebut not extremely. After it warms up it quits smoking and runs smooth. The bike sounds good with the stock exhaust, ndgoes through all the gears fine and the tires are pretty good. Everything on the bike works, ut the radio will only come on and make static, think it needs an antenna to work properly. I borrowed a cassette tape and it played ok.The paint is chipped here and there and faded as you would expecton a bike of this age. The windshield is somewhat faded as well. I have driven it several times to work and back (50 mile round trip) and had no trouble with it since I did the conversion on it. Obviously, am selling this AS IS/WHERE IS. If you want to have it shipped, will co-operate as much as possible but take no responsibility for anything other than making it available at any reasonable and convenient time. The bike is titled in the previous owners name still as I thought he would be buying it back from me. I never transferred it into my name. It is a Virginia title, nd has the seller portion filled out and signed, ith a sell price of $800.00 on it dated 04/22/2010. I think this would make someone a nice bike with a little TLC, wouldn't be afraid to go on a trip with it just as it sits, ut still would recommend a tune up right away. I have a sportster that I ride and just don't care for the big cruisers. My loss can be your gain, hanks for looking and happy cycling.
