Description
It would be hard to find a nicer, leaner example. All power equipment (turn signals, rake lights, orn, o/hi beams, tc.) functions as new. Newer battery in mint condition as it has been sitting on a Battery Tender since purchased. Bike turns over, tarts up essentially immediately with no trouble with the six carbs. Carbs have been religiously drained after each individual ride. Only stabilized, on-ethanol fuel ("pure gas" + Sta-Bil) run since I have owned it. Shifting this bike is particularly amazing, s you toe up into each gear it still clicks with the precision and feel of a showroom bike. Runs fast and clean; it's like a CB 750 until about 3000 RPM, nd then it turns into something more reminiscent of my CBR1000RR.
Cosmetic Condition
The previous owner (prior to me) was a collector who owned 6 CBXs and probably more than 50 motorcycles, e kept this bike in his private, ersonal museum / warehouse - so to say this bike has been garaged would be an understatement. I've continued that legacy, eeping it in a climate-controlled garage and properly maintained. I would say this bike is a 9/10 ... as nothing that is 35 years old can truly be 'perfect' or 'mint' or 'showroom' ... but it is in amazing, wesome shape. The black paint still has its reflective gloss. The pinstripe is near-perfect. The stickers with owner information on the tank and swing-arms are all in fantastic shape. The engine has almost no pitting and the pipes have essentially no bluing. But naturally, here are some very modest scuffs, one that I can readily identify or that are worth calling out individually, ut I don't want to represent it as 'perfect' and have you expecting a showroom bike. It's not concours ready.
One last thing - as you know, he pipes on late-model Hondas are prone to rust, ecause of people idling them and not letting the pipes heat up sufficiently, hus letting condensate build at the bottom of the trumpets, nd causing rust. This bike's pipes, ll six of them (well, into 1 on each side) are as near perfect as you could find. Please see pictures.
