Description

Selling my custom 1966 Honda CB160 caf?. I built this bike after seeing a very popular CB160 on the internet and decided to build it myself instead of hiring someone else to do the work. I’m selling it to help fund future projects and my new shop opening up in January 2016. The bike is titled and registered in my name. The CB is very light now after all the weight reduction modifications and handles amazingly. The entire bike has been gone thru and rebuilt from the floor up. Ever nut, asher, nd bolt have been either re-plated in nickel (JIS spec bolts) or replaced with stainless hardware. Painted in Scarlet red color matched from the original frame. The frame has been gone thru and de-tabbed and the rear section under the seat has been hooped to house the new battery and modern rectifier. The frame and swingarm are powder coated. The wiring loom has been stripped down and rerouted to hide most of the wiring throughout the bike. The front fender has been cut down for a sportier look with the bike’s “lines” in thought to fit look better. The seat cowl is made from fiberglass and houses the new taillight. NOS Honda tank emblems in excellent condition. New custom black canvas seat(might change it to leather due to weathering). New Hagon rear shocks with new chrome hardware. NOS tank rubber kneepads. New chrome 7/8” Clubman handlebars and grips. The engine has been rebuilt with a 0.50 overbore with new pistons, ings, ollars, nd a fresh valve job. The carburetors have been glass blasted and rebuilt with original Honda parts and new cone filters. A Pertronix electric ignition has replaced the old points system (no more adjusting the timing!!). New allen hardware have been added and all the aluminum covers for the engine have been polished to a mirror finish. Tank covers and various other parts were re-chromed. Starts on the very first kick, very time. I have about 2,000 miles on the engine since building the bike three years ago. New shortened Motion Pro custom cables.

And now the (not so bad)…. The tank was coated, ut looks to be peeling now. The spokes were cleaned up, but have now shown signs of light surface rust. I do have a brand new set of stainless Buchanan spokes and nipples that I will include with the sale. Speedometer needle just broke a few months ago, ou could easily get a replacement speedometer here on ebay, r drive it as is since I looks perfect (minus the needle). There are two small dinks on the tank covers, ne on each side. And the right exhaust has scratches from the original kick lever hitting it, have changed the lever to one that clears the exhaust.

Let me know if you would like to check the bike out in person, live in the San Diego area.

The last two pictures are of a CL160 I had built a few years ago and a CL110 replica (CL175 sloper engine) I currently ride.

The last picture I just added is of a CB550 that I finished for a customer. We reconfigured the rear swingarm from dual to a mono-shock. And also gave it a "floating seat".
