Description

Super nice 1989 Honda Hawk GT NT650 in Italian red for sale. This is bike is complete and OEM with the exception of the battery and the front brake line.
I purchased the motorcycle last year at the Barber Vintage Festival in a cosmetically and mechanically challenged state. Over the past year, have lovingly restored it to its' former beauty and it is now ready to make someone very happy. I will spare you the speech on how collectible these bikes are and how rare they are these days. This bike dominated the lightweight twins class through the 90's until the SV650 made it too expensive to compete. I basically went through the entire bike over the past year and touched about every external part and many of the internal parts.
Cosmetically: I polished the aluminum frame back to its' proper satin finish. The aluminum was dirty and somewhat oxidized when I purchased it. I had all the bodywork repainted with Glasurit brand OEM Italian red and replaced all the decals with OEM decals from Honda. I replaced all missing or questionable fasteners with the proper OEM Honda hardware. I removed any rust or corrosion from the fuel tank and recoated the inside of the tank with POR-15 motorcycle coating.
Mechanically: I flushed the radiator and replaced all of the coolant. I flushed the brakes and replaced with fresh brake fluid. New engine oil and oil filter. New OEM fuel line and fuel filter. New fork seals, ust caps and fork oil. Cleaned and repacked steering bearings. Inspected wheel bearings. Cleaned and rebuilt carbs with OEM seals, eedles and jets. Inspected and adjusted valves. Adjusted and lubricated chain. Installed new exhaust gaskets.
The bike and I replaced the radiator fan and a few bulbs too. Still has OEM grips, irrors, xhaust and turn signals which is unheard of. Please have a look at the pictures. The bike is kept inside my house which is climate controlled and has been since I brought it home. Seat is in great shape which is rare. Tires are in really good shape. The only place you will find a nicer one is in the Barber Vintage Museum.
I am happy to assist with shipping or can deliver to the Barber Vintage Festival in October and you can pick up in my pits. Any questions about this bike, lease feel free to ask.
