This is my 19080 original registered USA import Honda CB 750 Custom. nbsp;registered on import to the UK in 1998 and was going to be my last bike as now being 62. I bought this late last year after the previous owner had done a total strip down and engine rebuild ( apparantly) this strip down included a frame colour change to silver powder coat. Once i picked it up. I had the carbs professionally ultrasonically cleaned and balanced ( + new spark plugs) and on return to me she ran beautifully. I then set about installing new starter clutch bearings and springs. new rear brake shoes. had the front disc brake off and was going to fit new pads but they are not needed ( so will be supplied). full oil and filter change. had it MOT'd in May and it passed with no advisories. I gave it a thorough clean and brightened up the chromework which is pretty good except for the chain guard which could do with rechroming. The drive chain is ok for now as are both the tyres. The primary chain is a bit 'slappy' but i am assured by the professionals that it is a normal amount of slap and not worth the effort to change it. My next job was going to be the seat which has a couple of issues with the foam to deal with although the cover itself is fine. the chrome trim does need re fixing and was going to be done when i sorted the foam out. It has a MOTAD 4 into 1 system and the Comstar wheels are in pretty good condition although they obviously show age related marksUnfortunately what i did not realise is that only running the bike out for a few days during the summer and racking up a measly 250 miles means that the bike has again developed a poor running issue and only appears to fire on the outer 2 cylinders. I have had the plugs out and cleaned them as they were sooty black. sadly however this has not cured the problem and i no longer have the funds to take it back to the professionals or the skills to resolve the problem. All of the electrical work correctly. If you know these bikes then it may be an easy fix. but there is no point in it sitting n my garage over the winter with the insurance wasting away. It is MOT'd until May 15th 2015 and is road taxed for test purposes. So there we have it. I understand I am not allowed to say that i really want to swap/pex this for a Honda Deauville to a value of about £1200/1500 but sometimes dreams do come true! as my previous bike was a CBF1000 with panniers and a top box etc and i really miss those panniers etc!!!!Viewing is obviously welcome by arrangement and i am a retired so can be available most of the time.
