Here you can see for sale my Honda XR650L.
It's a US model. essentially an XR600R with the electric start engine from the NX650 Dominator.
It was sold new in the USA. I bought it in 2004 from someone who brought it to the UK from Germany.
Since then it has taken me to Africa. the Middle East and most places in between. as well as being my daily commuter for all those years.
It is now in a very used and scruffy condition.
It starts and runs. is road legal. reliable and has 6 months MOT. but in view of its overall condition it should really be considered to be a spares or repair project.
The worst aspect is the frame which is rusty. the whole bike should be dismantled to clean and repair it properly.
On the plus side. it has a sound engine. good battery. recent stainless steel exhaust. new tyres. chain and sprockets.
Included in the sale is a spare engine which has a kick-starter fitted. The spare engine is a runner but a bit smoky - it could do with a rebore and new piston.
Also included are some unused spares: cylinder head. CDI unit and coil plus various gaskets and sprockets.
Note that it is currently SORN (no road tax or insurance) so buyer to collect please.
