Your bidding on a one owner 1981 CB 900 Honda Custom that was bought new along with the matching (size M ) Hondaline helmet. The bike only had 3. 77 miles on it when it was last tagged in 1991 and has been been sitting in the garage for the past twenty three years. It has sat for all of these years and some of the chrome is pitted but some of the chrome will clean up and look good. The paint on the bike is in good shape . Both of the side covers are in great shape and the badges have very little paint worn off but they still look good for the age. The gas tank has paint chipped off on the front edge by the front fork and some chips along the bottom edge of the tank and there are very small scratches on the top of the tank that looks like a scuff marks. But over all the paint is 90%. But it is hard to believe that the original step seat is in 99. 9% condition just like the turn signals and tail light lens after all of this time. The Dunlop tires and air ride (shocks) suspension were still holding air when we moved the bike out of the garage. We aired the tires back to the proper amount and they are holding up fine along with the air shocks. We removed the plugs and turned the engine over manually and it turned over with no problem and the carburetors and cables move free as well. The clutch and cable is free and working. The brakes are free and the bike rolls but they will need attention. UNFORTUNATELY finding this bike with the factory helmet and manual and only 3. 77 miles and now it has a sad story of neglect and sitting for all of these years and never got to be enjoyed and now it is for sale and needs to go to someone who will restore this Classic Custom that was a very sought after street bike of the day. The unique style of high / low range (10 speed) transmission along with the air ride suspension and the power and speed of the 900 cubic inches combined was and could still be a Gem to ride. As I said the engine does have compression and it should fire up with a new battery but it needs a new owner and we need the room ASAP. Any questions Feel free to ask. Thanks for Looking
