HONDA CB 250 RS. CRACKING EXAMPLE. REDUCED TO ??995

It is with great sadness that I have to admit to myself that due to severe back problems. a legacy of working too long and too hard at farming I will not be able to ride a motorcycle again any time soon. so I am selling my small collection.   I have already sold my XS 650 and my use Honda. now it is the turn of my Sunday best Honda CB 250 RS.

For those of you who don't know the RS 250. it is everything the Super Dream isn't.   They are light. lithe. agile and spirited.   Great fun on back roads but well capable of holding their own on the highway.   They make good commuters being pretty frugal and can clock up high mileages given regular oil changes.   The claimed dry weight is 276 LB and power 26 bhp.   Making them more like a quick. nbsp;tractable 125. than the usual lardy 80's Jap 250's.   I have often wondered whether somone at Honda has come across a Ducati single and decided to make a civilised version!

This particular Honda is one my partner bought for me as a non runner.   He bought it because the cycle parts are so good.   The paint is excellent. not perfect. there is the odd small scratch. but it is really good.   The stanchions are like new.   It has modern Avons with virtually no wear.   The bike also has an excellent original Honda type exhaust system. a real rarity.   The chain and sprocket look good too.  

The engine is not original but it is from a well maintained. low mileage bike and runs very nicely.   As I said the bike is not perfect. there is a small crack in the left hand mirror. the swinging arm is hand painted and there is a small dent in the front rim. nbsp;but I think you would have to look a long time to find an RS 250 as nice as this one.   The bike has a years MOT as of October.

I am not desperate for the money and so will not entertain silly offers.   However my partner has an obsession with Enfield's. unit BSA's. lightweight AMC 's etc. . so if you have a bike. project or spares we might be able to do a deal.

I have had a lot of interest in this bike. views. watchers. emails and phone calls. but no one waving cash at me. so I have decided to reduce the price to ??995 but that is it. no offers. ake it or leave it.

As a number of you have observed. this bike was originally electric start.   I do still have the original engine.   The current engine is shown on the V5.
