Description

Hello. Up for auction is a 1975 Honda GL1000 naked Goldwing that I have meticulously restored to life. The goal of this project was to take this GL1000 and restore completely ground up. update. and give it a more sportbike performance. In 1975 this motorcycle drew attention for its 4 cylinder. boxer 1000cc displacement. There are two options with this bike 1. Currently naked with no front fairing. 2. A Dunstall 1/4 fairing which can be installed to give more of a cafe racer look. paint is matching. Below are some of the upgrades and restoration done to it:Powdercoating(no spray cans)-1. Frame. fork lowers. swingarm. triple tree. front and back comstar rims with red painted race stripes. valve covers. fuel tank under seat(double sealed inside). tank shelter. foot pegs. inner fender. radiator fairingEngine(rebuilt)-1. Cylinders honed. new piston rings. new bearing caps. cylinder head valve seats were lapped with new intake and exhaust valves. heavy duty barnett clutch. new oem waterpump. neutral switch. All new gaskets and orings. Accel Stator. Accel ignitions coils and spark plug wires. Dyna pointless ignition. Randakk oil filter adaptor upgrade. Randakk electric fuel pump delivery. Carburetors completely restored by Pistol Pete services. Dunstall reverse megaphonesFrame and suspension-1. Progressive fork springs. Nissin Master cylinder with adjustable brake lever. cross drilled rotors. fork Superbrace. powder coated brake calipers with stainless steel brake pistons. stainless brake lines. ugraded swingarm bearings2. Reduced the overall weight of the bike by 30 poundsPaint-1. Metallic silver with 3 coats base and 2 topcoats. Emblems and decals are removeableSome things to note are I went to the comstar rims because of the upgraded calipers. Nissin master cylinder upgrade. cross drilled rotors and pistons. The bike is watercooled and takes a couple of minutes to warm. it absolutley sings around 6. 00 rpm with lots of torque. There is no title. It is a bill of sale from me along with documentation from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and local police that have investigated any possible ownership or claims. States such as Florida will allow you to apply for title. Auction and shipping notes:I'm going to reserve the right to end this auction at any time and I require that you use paypal or check(funds must clear before transfer or bike). I require a $300 non-refundable payment should there be a failure of payment(sorry). You can arrange for pickup yourself or hire a shipper. If you're hiring a shipper please insist they do not cram the motorcycle or have others lean on it. Try and get a covered trailer if possible. The bike is essentially in new condition. A little about myself:My background for the last 17 years has been as an Aircraft Airframe and Powerplant mechanic. I originally started in the USMC as a helicopter mechanic and transitioned to airplanes. I have worked for Lockheed Martin as a mechanic on the F-22 Raptor and C-130J Hercules. I also have worked at Pratt & Whitney overhauling jet engines. I love retro and vintage bikes; you can still work on them. they are loud and raw(no abs or computer management systems). This Honda gets attention wherever I go. I wish you good luck!
