430 XC Vintage MX MotoCross Cross Country OHLINS WP FORKS RENTHAL Nice Bike!

1987 Husqvarna 430XCMotoCross MX Desert Cross Country This would be the last year of the Swedish built Huskies as production would move to Cagiva/Italy in 1988. These 'last of the best & best of the last' were excellent bikes with Ohlins rear suspension and White Power (WP) inverted front forks. The combination of these suspension components really elevated this bike far beyond anything coming out of Japan. Marzocchi conventional forks were also offered as standard equipment this year but the WP forks could be ordered as an option. These WP forkswere 'miles' ahead of anything else out there in 1987. Super plush.

Disc brake front & drum rear.

Water cooled XC 430 motor was the best of both worlds with the higher horsepower CR top end grafted onto a wider ratio 6 speed transmission with a lighting coil. These bikes were built for fast cross country style racing (desert) and were hard to beat.

Excellent original pipe & Answer aluminum spark arrestor/silencer. New ACERBIS front headlight and rear taillight (are NOT hooked up yet). New ACERBIS fenders. New CEET seat cover & a nice set of RENTHAL aluminum bars newerSCOTT grips & cables MAGURA controls are excellent. DID gold series chain. This bike is largely stock other than the mods mentioned here. Veryexpensive MICHELINtires are in excellent shape with some wear but not much.

Bike starts easy and runs great but the clutch is sticking a bit from bike sitting for so long. Plastic radiator shrouds are slightly oxidized.

These are really great bikes as they have tons of power but aren't brutally fast 'expert skill level only' like the 500's are. Most guys prefer these 430's over the 500's due to this reason plus they are generally considered to be easier to start as well.

This is a very nice 'rider' quality bike.

ONLY ISSUES I can find are: SEE ABOVE.

Excellent compression and spark. Starts easily and runs strong. Bike has been sittingfor a while and should have a complete RACE PREP by you prior to riding or racing it.
