Description

1973 CZ 250 Motocross - Vintage VMX AHRMA
Race Restoration
Runs Great – Ready to Race or Restore

ITEM DESCRIPTION: Beautiful 1973 (1974 per the receipt from Motocross East, wned by Jim Diebert) CZ250 MX. Jim performed a “Race Ride Prep” on the bike, ell over $1,000 in labor and parts (receipt available). I’ve listed the work below from the receipt. I don’t know who did the cosmetic work, owever the frame, wingarm, tc. are in excellent shape and appear to have been recently painted or powdercoated. I then added several items with plans to race the bike in AHRMA vintage 250 Sportsman class. The items I added are also listed below. I’ve ridden the bike 3 times to ensure it was race-ready but am no longer going to race, ence the sale. The reserve is very reasonable and even at the buy-it-now price I’ll be at a loss. But I do want this to go to someone who will take care of it. The frame does not have a data plate but the motor number can be seen in the photos.

The winner will also get a PMC tank (red plastic but painted silver) with new petcock (tank weighs a mere 2 lbs; tank can be seen in pictures). The bike will come with original bars/levers in excellent condition, riginal rear metal fender, nd original foot pegs. The frame must have been recently painted, ts excellent. Likewise for the gas tank, xcept for the dent in the very front. Rims are Akront, ires are Barum with about 70% tread life left. The bike does not have the original carb, ather a Mikuni roundslide. I know there is more to list that I am missing.

Mechanically the bike is ready to go. There is a slight bend in the shifter shaft outside the case, ero impact on shifting. Otherwise, ery sound. Look at the pictures, ou will be getting a bike that you can either race or finish for a complete restoration. Either way, great start point, he hard work has been done. The bike does not come with the stand or the number plates with my racing numbers, nstead you will get 3 new round style number plates.

Cosmetically I can note 3 items, one of which impact the bike’s performance (see pictures):

--small ?” tear in rear of seat
--dent in very front of tank left side (not visible from the side)
--three dents in the exhaust

Work performed by Jim Diebert at Motocross East LLC (as listed on receipt):

--Rebuild top end (new piston, ings, askets, lean exhaust port, ylinder head)

--Clean carb, et floats, ir filter prep
--Replace fork seals, ew fluid, ipers
--Set ignition w/points and condenser
--Replace engine seals, leeve head adjust (steering head?)
--Prep brakes, heel bearings, djust cables, ube
--Lube swingarm pivot, djust chain, ire pressure
--Replace hardware as needed.
--Receipt doesn’t specify it but it looks like the frame was just painted or powder-coated too.

Work/items added by myself:

--Custom, owder-coated case-saver (silver)

--Trick-It Kit to the front forks
--Hard-to-find Pro-Tec CT-1 brake arm and chain tensioner
--Works Performance Shocks (2014 rebuild by Randy at FastMann Racing, 310)
--NW Maico CZ Footpeg Kit
--NW Maico/CZ plastic rear fender
--Renthal Vintage bend bars, SR perches/levers
--Custom made and powdercoated case saver
--Moose folding shift lever
--Renthal soft grips (safety wired)
--New fuel line and filter.
