1986 Husqvarna XC500 XC 500 100+ MPH

1986 Husqvarna XC 500 in very good condition. This is a 6 speed powerhouse that is capable of 100 + mph in the dirt! I found several links saying this bike can do over 120 mph!! I started the restoration on this bike to add to my collection of big bore two-strokes. but I've got to let this one go. It was running when I started the restoration. has excellent compression and spark. but hasn't been started in several years. It has been stored indoors at my storage facility for that period of time. I recently brought it home to do some more work on it. and have done the following in the past few weeks:- Installed good used kickstart mechanism- New clutch cover gasket- Cleaned and degummed carb- New air filter- New OEM exhaust pipe mounting hardware- Newly cleaned and straightened radiators- New front & rear fenders- New front number plate- New inner tubes and rim strips- New front Maxxis tire- Near new Bridgestone rear tire- New grips- New fork seals & fluid- New spark plug- Cleaned & lubed rear brake mechanism- New front brake pads- New chain sliderFront & rear sprockets are in good condition and the chain is an O-ring. Levers straight & cables in good condition. airbox boot and intake both soft and pliable. no dry rot or cracking. Shock has good damping and suspension goes through stroke smoothly. All fasteners are Husqvarna and in the right places. not missing things here & there. I followed factory part diaghrams for anything I disassembled & reassembled. I have some extra parts that can be negotiated in price. two good swingarms. airbox. side panels. Acerbis fork guards. rear shock. & radiator wings. Bike just needs a new seat cover. one tank badge. tank graphics. & some minor exhaust pipe work that I can show you. I'd also suggest a rear shock bumper. seal & fluid change. Also. the previous owner painted the gas tank white. but either paint can be removed or another tank sourced on ebay. I have a clean California title for this bike. and it has not been registered for many years and is out of the DMV system. Again. this bike has BIG compression and great spark. but I haven't started it since doing this work. in fact I haven't even filled the gearbox up yet! These bikes are getting hard to find in complete condition. so here's your chance to own a peice of history.
