Kawasaki GPX400R Project/Spares or Repair/Parts/Break or Restoration

Firstly thank you for taking the time to view my listing. Please do not be put off by this warts and all description I am just trying to detail those point that I believe important and relevant and as such some may appear overly negative. I am just offering an informed opinion.  

Here I have for auction a little Kawasaki that I acquired as part of a little job lot. I have no plans for this bike so I am offering it here in the hope someone may choose to love it or use it for parts. It is a much neglected Kawasaki GPX400R. It has been stood for quite some time more or less in the state you see it in the photographs. It looks to have been started as a project and then left one assumes due to lack of interest.

I have given this a good going over with a view to offering some informative advice or description however please understand it is my view and undoubtedly I will have missed something that can only be identified if you are working on the bike in detail.

Firstly the bike turns over but I have not tried to start it as there is no battery fitted. I have used a boost pack and it does turn over. To get it to run will need a lot of work not least sorting out the gummed up carburettors.

The bike as you can see is partly disassembled but looks to be just about complete. Again I have not gone over it with a fine tooth comb so assume you will need to buy some parts or replace those that will not function. Certainly the tank will need replacement as it leaks and the pump and petrol tap will need replacing.

The brakes have had the fluid removed but look in good visual condition as do the wheels/tyres which look like they need just a little TLC.

The fairing are as you would expect a little scratched but here again could be recovered to a decent standard with a little T cut and polish. There may be the odd crack but nothing major from what I can see.

The forks are pretty rust free and the seals don’t appear to be leaking but again I haven’t road tested them

I have no history or documentation for the bike. so no V5. There is a Registration plate and the frame number is visible.  I have keys that fit the ignition and all relevant locks.  Obtaining a V5 from the DVLA should not prove too much of a problem apart from the cost. I haven’t bothered as I never intended to keep this bike.

So there you go. buy it restore it use it for spares or street fighter it. either option is possible.

I am starting this bike at 99p with no reserve as i want the space back that it is currently taking up for a new project.

Please note I require a deposit of ?50 (non refundable) paid immediately to secure the bike and to ensure that you intend to complete the transaction and then cash on collection.

Finally you will need a van to collect the bike as it can not be ridden home.
