Description

Hi. you are bidding. hopefully. on my 1981 Kawasaki Z650 B3. I bought this a couple of yrs ago with the intention of getting it up and running for the summer. but with a daughter at uni. no overtime in yrs and with reactions worse than an arthritic warthog Ive decided to let it go to someone who may be able to give it the attention it deserves. When I bought the bike it had an original Alfa 4  into 1 exhaust but due to the rust and racket of an unbaffled 30 yr old exhaust I decided to move it on and replaced it with a Kerker 4 into 1 from the states. the engine has run and it was fitted with a new oil filter last year and has brand new oil also. the engine has been checked over as well by a local lad known as 'Aussie Mike' ( if you're in the area you'll know this guys rep) and all the clearances are pretty good also. The original coils are present but not great so I have bought a set of Dynatek DC1 coils and leads are ready to fit. on top of that the bike has new superbike bars from Z-Power and a brand new master reservoir. the mirrors look original but tbh I'm not sure. The seat base is in immaculate condition plus it comes with the foam rubber from a genuine Guilliari seat. unfortunately the cover was goosed so a brand new replica cover was sourced from P&K covers. its just needs fitting. I have a set of original rear indicators which haven't been fitted yet. On top of this I have a set Marzocchi stadas which were recently serviced by Kais suspension in Atherton. The front forks were stripped and brand new stanchions were fitted. sourced from J Browse in Wrexham. some of the internals missing so after loads of searching for parts I now have a complete set of working B model front forks. plus two other sets of forks including a later F4 pair. the original forks have been converted to twin discs. The wheels are the original alloys but I think I may have a pair of wire wheel rims with hubs but minus the spokes. All in all the bike is in great nick. with no visible signs of rust. it looks like it was powder coated or stove enameled at some point. obviously the bike is no spring chicken but its really good for its age. it also comes with two rust free tanks two front mudguards. brand new unfitted wheel bearings. brand new fuel filter and lines. also the carbs were stripped and ultrasonically cleaned by CWS Restorations in Rainford recently. the front brakes were also stripped and refurbed at the same time and have had new pistons. seals pads and been repainted in satin black. I have spent a lot of money and time on this bike and will be sad to see it go but as long as someone takes it with the intention of using it then thats good enough for me and with Z900 prices currently heading for the stratosphere and the with Z650 only 14 BHP down on the Z9 with a much better handling chassis. now might be the time to check one out. tw you will need a van or trailer to take the bike away. I will add any further info I can think of below this. ve tried to be as open and honest as poss with this bike. thanks for looking. If you would to come round and have a look drop me an email to: stewie. johnstone@googlemail. com or ring me on 07813663854 CheersStewEDIT: the images show the bike with the tank. side panels and duck tail in grey primer. in fact the panels were sent for respraying but 14 months later all that had been done was the primer coat. the other tank is a solid colour. EDIT :2 You will notice that the front wheel is a different colour to the back one. in fact Its a spare wheel. the original is with front tyre but is obviously included too.

Edit:4 sorry to say that the rims and hubs for the wire wheels could not be found. no idea what happened to them. however I have found what appears to be a Telefix fork brace so I'll chuck that in the box of spares as well.
