2001 KAWASAKI KDX220R SUPERMOTARD, ONE OFF BIKE!

Due to starting a new business venture regrettably my awesome KDX220R SUPERMOTARD is up for sale!

I will start with the only 2 negative points.

1. The bike will need a trail tech speedo. it will then pass a FULL UK MOT EASILY!

2. The bike is not registered. this was my last step (to take my bike test!) I did some research and believe it to only cost around ?110 including the first years tax!

I do however have a expensive letter from Kawasaki confirming that the numbers match and it is a 2001 bike. so the new owner can get it on an age related plate.

I have a HUGE folder full of receipts for this bike. easily totalling over ?3500! I really wouldn't want to sit there and add them all up! that's without the time I have put into it getting it to what it is today!

here is the spec.

ENGINE.

Bottom end tear down and inspection by Alec Dorrell motorcycles in Stourport On Severn. all was in good order. but new crank bearings / seals. water pump seal changed for good measure.

new standard bore size WISECO FORGED PISTON. cylinder re-lined to match. Kips completely overhauled. Boyesen 607 power reeds. cylinder head squish band modified in the USA at http://www. rb-designs. com/rb_designs_llc_021. htm

Carb modified to 36mm in the USA at http://www. rb-designs. com/rb_designs_llc_009. htm with the optional adjustable air screw (cost a fortune to ship & have returned! but certainly wakes the bike up!)

FULL FMF Gnarly REV pipe and powercore 2 silencer imported from the USA

The engine has only seen 2 hours use since built!

SUSPENSION.

Front forks. KYB 48MM of a 2005 KX450F. fully rebuilt with new bushes. seals. oil etc. KDX stem knurled and pressed into KXF yokes. custom spacers made. do not foul the fuel tank etc. air bleeders fitted. new all balls bearings in head stock.

Rear shock. standard KDX220R in perfect order.

SUPERMOTARD WHEELS / TYRES.

Talon hub / Excel rim combo. Front rim 3. 5". Rear rim 4. 25". MAXXIS PRESA SILVER SUPERMOTARD TYRES. Front 120/70 R17. Rear 160/60 R17! New SKF bearings fitted into the wheels (not the cheap stock bearings!) Custom wheel spacers.

Custom 17mm front axle that works with the MX wheels also!

The wheels / tyres have had half an hours use max on a private road!

MX WHEELS / TYRES.

1990 KX125 Front wheel. completely re-laced with new spokes. new all balls bearings. Michelin AC10 80/100-21 Tyre (dot approved) with super heavy duty tube.

standard KDX rear wheel. new all balls bearings. Michelin AC10 110/100-18 Tyre (dot approved) with super heavy duty tube.

these have had an hour and a half in use!

BRAKES.

SUPERMOTARD. Front. 320MM EBC wavy front brake disc kit with caliper hanger. EBC red stuff pads. HEL brake line. Rear. stock size braking wavy disc with EBC red stuff pads.

MX BRAKES. stock sizes. front wavy disc. stock EBC rear.

The rear brake has just been overhauled with a new piston & seal in the caliper. and the master was overhauled also.

GEARING.

SUPERMOTARD.   New 14 / 45 sprockets. New DID VT2 ENDURO NARROW X-RING CHAIN!

MX. 13 / 47 sprockets. DID CHAIN.

SWINGARM / LINKAGES.

Fully overhauled with new all balls bearings everywhere!

PLASTICS.

New UFO rad guards. tank guards. side panels. frame guards. MAIER rear fender imported from the USA (small fortune!) SUPERMOTARD front fender. V FACE LED FRONT LIGHT (?80!) DOT approved. fork guards. hand guards.

ELECTRICS.

Full custom wiring loom. 85 WATT lighting stator. Trail Tech REG/REC (now running DC) small 12V battery located in the air box. LED rear side light / brake light / number plate light (DOT approved). LED indicators. Front & Rear brake lights using hydraulic switches! LED front side light. Halogen 60/55w main / high beam. handle bar switch gear. kill switch. horn. custom ignition with keys. battery isolator switch. power supply ready for Trail Tech speedo.

USED SPARES.

some original plastics. full exhaust system. wiring loom. regulators. lighting stator. plus parts I have probably forgotten about!

NEW SPARES.

Green side panels (UFO) sprockets. Braking wavy brake disc. fork seals. jets. and again probably parts I have forgotten about!

This bike has been a labour of love! no expense spared! and has spent 90% of its life sat in the garage! I have loads of pictures from various states of the build etc. a huge folder full of receipts! if it don't fetch my ?2500 asking price then it will happily stay where it is! as we all know what the talon hub / excel wheel combos are worth alone!
