This 1981 Kawasaki GPz 1100 in pristine condition is up for sale. Here is a rare opportunity to buy a beautiful classic in great original condition. very collectible. A very clean and well maintained three owner (as far as I know) bike. I have owned and babied the bike since 2000 when it had 11. 00 miles on it. I don’t ride it enough. so it’s time to let somebody else enjoy it. It runs great and is unmolested with the original fuel injection working flawlessly. Most of these were modified with carburetors due to lack of understanding of the system. This bike has been completely sorted to run great and very reliably. The paint is the original “Firecracker Red”. very shiny and with only very small and barely detectable imperfections. There are no dents on the tank. The bike has a period correct 4-1 Vance & Hines exhaust system. which makes it sound awesome – think 70’s race car! This lightens the bike considerably and makes it turn in to corners much better. The original exhaust pipes come with the bike and are in very good condition. if re-sprayed would be perfect. This bike needs virtually nothing. it does have a small external oil leak which has been consistent for a few years and I have not been able to locate the exact source. It will need a new rear tire soon and could probably use a new battery at some point. although it still works. The bike has approximately 26 150 miles. Mileage may change slightly if I take it for another short ride prior to sale. Listed here are some of the maintenance (excluding regular oil-service and wear items) and work done on the bike: New Throttle Switch New Engine Temp Sensor New Rear Wheel - bearings Replaced Stator all at 12. 00 miles Replaced all four Injectors at 13. 00 miles K&N Air-filter installed at 14. 00 miles Top – End rebuild (Complete valve job. New exhaust valve guides and all guide seals. New piston rings and cylinder honing. Throttle valves Synchronized) all at 14. 00 miles Wiring improvement. separate power supply to coils at 21. 00 miles Replaced CPU and Rubber bushings at 21. 50 miles New Chain and sprockets at 22. 00 miles New Brake Fluid Front and Rear at 22. 00 miles Checked and adjusted Valve clearances at 25. 00 miles New Fork Seals and fork- oil. New Front brake pads. nbsp; New Front Tire all at 25. 00 miles Just some comments on two modifications done during above work. which has greatly improved reliability and usability of the bike without detracting from its originality: The wiring improvement was done due to the fact that these bikes have a pretty weak spark with the wiring design and can sometimes be a bit slow to start. By adding a separate power-supply wire directly to the coils. this issue is resolved and the engine fires right up and runs stronger over all as a result. The top-end re-build was prompted due to low compression on two cylinders and caused by the flawed emission design which injects air by each exhaust valve and pre maturely wears the valves by running them too hot. The fix for this problem is to plug those air channels and was typically done by the performance tuners and racers in the know back in the day. This work was done on this bike to prevent this issue from developing again. At the same time the intake and exhaust ports were slightly “cleaned up” to improve flow. The factory was rumored to have done this on a few of the prototypes sent out to magazines for road tests when this bike was new. to get maximum performance results in the tests J. This engine is very tight and powerful and does not burn oil. see the videos – no blue smoke. This bike is very fast for its period and sounds just awesome. gives me goose bumps every time! The bike has current California registration paid to July 2015. If you would like to check out the bike. it is located in Marin County in the SF Bay area.
