1987 Kawasaki Ninja 1000R ZX1000 ZX10

This beautiful black 1000R is a serious motorcycle.

It is heavily modified and very fast.

The bodywork and factory paint are in excellent shape.

The gas tank is brand new- Kawasaki New Old Stock. It is flawless.

It has Ninja ZX12 front end suspension and wheels. It has Stainless Steel braided Brake lines.

It has a Wiesco Big Bore Piston Kit which punches it out to 1040CC.

It has Megacycle Cams, K&N Air Filter, and a Vance and Hines pipe.

The throttle response is crisp and the tune is right on. It starts instantly, sounds great, and this thing really moves and handles beautifully.

The bike is 28 years old, but its classic lines and styling hang no problem with modern stuff.

Tires are race takeoffs- they're soft race compound with good aggressive tread depth.

The speedometer doesn’t work..

I have the OE factory mirrors for it, most of the pics are taken without them, but I reinstalled the mirrors on May 17th- see 4 additional photos.

This bike retains the original factory Kawasaki GPz key to operate the ignition, fuel tank cap, and seat release, which is actually rare.

In preparation for many more years of trouble free riding, this machine has been completely gone through, in anticipation of providing the new owner with the best possible experience. It has received the following attentions (and more):

-Oil& Filter: Amsoil Full Synthetic M/C 10W40 and Oil Filter.

-New Fuel Filter

-The carburetors have been disassembled, ultrasonically cleaned, re-assembled with new parts and Synchronized on the bike. The precision of these CVK vacuum controlled variable venturi carbs hearkens to Fuel Injection.

-All hydraulic systems have been vacuum bled with new DOT4 fluid (Clutch & Brakes).

-Water cooling system has been flushed and filled with new coolant.

-Drive chain adjusted and lubricated.

-New Yuasa battery

-New NGK spark plugs.

-Washed, air blown dried, detailed and waxed.

The bike is smooth and powerful, very stable and just an absolute joy to ride.

I have worked with an excellent motorcycle shipping company in the past that will gently load it into the truck with a Lift gate & then strap the bike upright to a pallet for completely safe transport. The last time I used them, they charged around $600 for cross country delivery.

The bike has 18, 55 miles. The high performance suspension and motor work were done less than 500 miles ago. It’s a fresh build and a sweet bike.
