Description

Impossibly rare Japan import SILVER (not available in the US in 2000) UNRESTRICTED 2000 Kawasaki ZX12R. Only 3 in the US. 8724 miles (14040km). One owner; ME.I've had this bike since it had .1km on the clock. I was nearly killed on a green one and when it came time to replace it I decided I was going to get a silver one unfortunately they didn't offer silver in the US at the time. I committed to the task andno matter how difficult it proved to be I was getting one. After a exhaustive search I finally found a dealer who would import one (although at great expense). Thanks to the nice Asian lady who nearly killed me's excellent insurance policy I went for it.I followed thegrueling2000 mile break-in PRECISELY as it was vitally important (according to Kawasaki) for getting all the power out of the brilliant brilliant engine. This bike is like a Swiss watch. Since day one I've treated it like it was made of gold. It has never been dropped wrecked nicked damaged left unattended or ever had a drop of water on it. For most of the time I've owned it it's been kept in my front living room - I constructed a special ramp to get it up the porch and right in the front door. I spent many a night listening to the TV and watching the bike. The only mods I performed were pretty standard; added a Two Brothers Titanium can a PC3R brass 38mm throttle boots (this is how they restricted them after that gentlemen's agreement nonsense) stiffer clutch springs to eliminate slip heat shield between motor and airbox to eliminate heat soak added disappearing license plate (cover turns opaque with the push of a button) and stainless turn signals that do double duty as frame sliders. The clutch basket and angled valve stem recalls were performed (I took them the parts - no one has worked on or touched this bike but me EVER). Since the 12R has a top speed 40mph faster than a Police helicopter I also swapped the Ninja stickers out for custom 'Ronin' ones because the Ronin like the 12R has no master. :)If you don't care for any of these mods I have all of the original bits. Within an hour this bike could go back to bone showroom stock. The rubber intake boots were how the bike was de-tuned to keep it under 200 mph after the agreement was made between Kwak and Suzuki. It was discovered by the aftermarket after they took apart a neutered French bike (they were limited to 100hp) that the way they were detuning French bikes was to add washers to the inside of the intake to limit air flow. After changing out the reduced diameter rubber boots for the original spec versions I went out with a GPS and logged 201.3mph on my first try and there was more left. Never added another performace mod after that. It's even got the stock gearing and the speedo that goes to 340kmh. I did replace the 200 rear tire with a 190 (makes the bike turn and feel like it's 100 pounds lighter) - so if you wanna go over 200 for any reason you'll need to put a 200 rear tire back on.Being a 15 year old motorcycle that can do the double ton I decided it was time for a complete redux of anything that wears with age so within the last 10 miles of use I have replaced; The tires with Diablo Supercorsas SP V2. 190 rear (makes the bike feel about 100lbs lighter) They are brand new and only have 10 miles on them.Rebuilt the front forksReplaced the front and rear brake pads and all brake fluids with Kawasaki brand fluidNew clutchesOil and filterReplaced the spark plugs with factory specCleaned the K&N air filtersFlushed the cooling system and refilled with engine iceCleaned waxed and adjusted the new chainReplaced the front and rear wheel bearingsReplaced the battery with a Lithium Ion (saves about 11 pounds)It's perfect in every way (other than the rock chips they all develop under the very bottom of the fairings (you can't see them unless you have it disassembled or are at 12 O'clock). Needs absolutely nothing. You don't even have to check the air pressure in the tires.Comes with 3 keys (2 that still have the rubber slip covers) owners manual all the original take off parts (signals boots factory can etc) the ZX-12R coffee table book they gave to anyone who bought the bike new and the completely impossible to find poster that has a silver 2000 12R on it and the tag line "Oh my God is in the details" (its so obscure there aren't even pictures of it on the internet). Also including a rear stand cover an extra windscreen and a radar detector mount. (I tastefully and nondestructively routed a power cable to the windscreen for a radar detector).Always always always kept inside under cover waxed with Zymol Concours (it's $212 a container and has to be applied with your bare hands. Some people don't even take this much care with their Bugatti's) and loved like a family member. No ZX-12R has been cared for more. No one other than me has ever touched this bike. No one else has sat on the seat touched the bars or so much as laid a finger on it. I'm completely OCD and extremely protective. This bike has never even gotten wet - not once. It starts the first time you touch the button - every time.I'm asking a tad more than the average 12R but lets not pretend this is a hammered sh*t 5K copy that's traded hands a hundred times and been raped by Ricky Gadson. Yeah there are cheaper bikes out there but are you willing to risk your life buying a 200 mph motorcycle with a big question mark as to what kind of life it's led? This is the rarest 2000 12R in the US it is absolutely 100% mechanically flawless and if you wad it up it cannot be replaced at any price. You could get on it and ride it back and forth across any continent at 200 mph without hesitation (please just don't tell me you did it :).IMPORTANT: I'm a dealer so if you're in Ohio I have to collect sales tax and do the paperwork for you. If you're a resident of Arizona California Florida Indiana Massachusetts Michigan or South Carolina the bike must be picked up and delivered by a shipping company otherwise I am required to collect state tax.For sale locally so I reserve the right to end the listing at any time - which is a distinctpossibility(read; don't wait out the auction if you really want it). I hate to do that but so many people bid and flake its nearly impossible to complete a sale through eBay anymore. In case that doesn't happen and the auction does make it to the endPLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I'm begging you don't bone it by sport bidding and bailing.
