Description

This is the first year of Kawasaki Ninja that set the standard of sporting motorcycles for years to come. It was the world’s first 16 valve, ater-cooled, nline four-cylinder motorcycle engine, reating over 110hp. It was the first stock road bike to exceed 150mph. Only three months after being unveiled to the press in December 1983, ealers entered three GPZ900R bikes in the Isle of Man Production TT, inishing in first and second place. The GPZ900R was also featured in the movie “Top Gun” in 1986. This bike is a true sport bike icon.
This bike is very original and very complete. It is not only an excellent example of the very first year of these historic bikes, ut part of the very first production run as well. This means that it was entirely assembled at Kawasaki's Japanese factory and shipped whole to the United States -- later GPZ900Rs were shipped in pieces and assembly was completed upon arrival by Kawasaki's U.S. facilities. It has the factory black nickel plated OEM exhaust system, riginal windscreen, riginal center stand, heels, auges, tc… Anyone who knows about these bikes also knows that some of these parts have become unobtainable, n particular the exhaust pipes, indscreen, nd center stand. The bike was repainted last year to freshen up the look and was painted to OEM standards with all of the correct decals and color codes. The engine runs perfectly and already has a manual cam chain tensioner installed. The bike only has 21,168 original miles and has been stored inside for the majority of its life. The rubber and plastic components are still soft and pliable. There is zero rust or corrosion on any part of the bike.
The bike is currently equipped with a Corbin seat and a restored, eriod-correct, ftermarket mid-fairing by Lockhart, irca 1986. Both the original seat and the original mid-fairing are included in the sale as well. The bike also comes with a spare bank of original carbs, few sets of brake pads and some spare filler panels (see pics).
The bike has a clean Arizona title, lready notarized and ready for transfer. This is not a salvage bike. The bike can be seen at Eastside Performance Motorcycles in Mesa, rizona. Eastside Performance has serviced this bike for years; the shop specializes in vintage motorcycles and has been in business for over 34 years. This is a private sale with no sales tax, ust eBay fees.
