Description

Welcome to the sale of my 2002 Kawasaki ZZR 1200 The main points are covered in the specifics above. the bike has just recently undergone an extensive overhaul and has been upgraded with lots of new parts along the way. I  bought the bike with the intention to go touring with my wife but due to a young family this just isn't going to happen anytime soon so after spending considerable money on this total overhaul my loss (financially and emotionally) will be someone else's gain. There's lots to list so I'll get on with it. SUSPENSION WORK:- New set of fork imported from the States from a 2004 model year so also has adjustable rebound damping as well as spring preload. being from the USA these forks are in lovely condition with no corrosion or rot anywhere and came from a low mileage machine. They have also been completely stripped and fitted with a new set of Hagon Progressive springs and fresh oil. fork seals and dust seals. - New Hagon rear monoshock. only covered a few hundred miles since fitting. leaps and bounds ahead of the old tired stockunit. fitted with a 100kg/cm3 spring. adjustable for preload and rebound and compression damping. Rear shock linkage cleaned and greased at the time of fitting. BRAKE UPGRADES - Brand new Wavy discs fitted (only covered a few hundred miles since fitting) - GSXR 1000 K1 6 pot calipers. these are a very useful upgrade that I found out about on the ZZRbikes forum. The standard brakes were ok but in all honestly only adequate. I sourced a set of good used calipers which are a straight bolt on upgrade. These were completely rebuilt with new pressure and dust seals and the pistons thoroughly cleaned to as new condition and all reassembled with new bleed nipples. new pads etc. This new setup is still only bedding in but already the stopping power is fantastic when compared to stock and the bike has all the brakes you could possibly need whilst still being controllable.  - Newly rebuilt rear caliper. I sourced a very good condition ZX12R rear caliper. as with the front calipers this was completely rebuilt with new pressure and dust seals. new stainless pistons in this one. bleed nipples and new EBC 'HH' pads. - New HEL braided brake lines front and rear. all fitted with new stainless banjo bolts. washers and fresh fluid. COMFORT UPGRADES- New Genmar Bar risers. these rasie the bars approx 38mm and do make a great deal of difference in getting the weight off your wrists. these are of course removable if you wish. EXHAUSTThe bike comes with slip on stainless end cans custom made by Zorstec http://www. zorstecexhaustsolutions. co. uk/contact. php  in Yorkshire. There work is excellent and the quality is fantastic. These cans have internal baffles that are not removable and are therefore fully road legal but still sound amazing and have a nice deep tone but not too offensive. Whilst the bike was apart having all the above carried out. the oil was also changed as well as fresh coolant. I have also bought a set of R&G crash bungs that are still in the box and untouched. these require the fairing to be drilled to fit. and I've run out of time with this project but they will come with the bike for the new owner. The bike comes with a fully stamped up service history in the original Kawasaki book. with the last service recorded at 39k miles and a chain and sprocket kit fitted at 36k miles. Tyres front and rear are Bridgestone BT021's with great thread left on both and no squaring off of either. MOT'd and Taxed until March 20152 KeysStack of old MOT'sThis is not your usual old tired machine. as described has been totally gone over and is now like a new bikeBodywork is all good for a 12 year bike. with the odd mark here and there but overall very smart indeed. no rips to seat etc. Only thing negative worth mentioning is that the rear brake needs bleeding and is at the moment ineffective. I've simply run out of time and doubt it'll get done prior to sale. it's all together as stated above but it just does nothing until bleed properly. Bike is located in Gatwick area. feel free to make an offer but please don't be sillyCheersPaul
