1973 Kawasaki S1A 250 triple

A fantastic opportunity to acquire a rare early 1973 Kawasaki S1A 250 triple in Candy Gold. Engine and frame numbers are as they left the factory in March 1973. Runs superbly.  

Reason for sale is I am reducing the size of my collection to fund new projects.  Mileage is indicated as 6779 miles which judging by the condition of the engine internals before rebuild. could be genuine but I can't be sure.  Only a few hundred miles since restoration.  Everything is correct about this bike. it was extensively and carefully restored in 2009 including:

- Full top end engine rebuild with new pistons and rings

- Carbs ultra-sonically cleaned and rebuilt with correct new jets

- New chromed pipes

- Many frame and engine components replaced with Genuine Kawasaki Parts

- Frame repainted in correct shade of black and NOT powder coated

- Tank and panels painted in Kawasaki Candy Gold

- Wheel rims and spokes are original with correct 1973 date stamp

- The seat is original and unmarked. I decided not to paint the seat base to keep it original

- New DID chain and sprockets

- New period ribbed front and block rear tyres with new tubes

- Many. many other new components - to much to list

This bike is not 100% concourse and was never intended to be but it is an honest bike with some patina (see pics).

- The fork stanchions are lightly pitted

- Front and rear wheel rims have not been re-chromed but are very good

UK 'L' registered and V5 is in my name. MOT and taxed (historic) until April 2015. Comes with 2 Genuine Kawasaki ignition keys and 2 matching seat lock and tank cap keys.
