Hello and thank you for looking at my auction page. Well the time has come to reluctantly part with my beloved Kawasaki ZXR750R K1. The World Super Bike Limited Edition Homoligation Special.
I have owned this bike for the last 4 years and I have only done a handful of miles on it. It is completely 100% standard as it left the factory with no modifications and has been meticulously maintained and looked after. The bike has never wanted for anything and has always been kept in a dry heated garage. She spent 2 years in the spare bedroom until my youngest daughter was born! As you can see from the pictures it is in near perfect condition and would look stunning in any collection. I personally have not seen any K1's in real life of this age in such good condition. The condition is immaculate for a 22 year old bike with only 1 tiny mark on the right hand side lower fairing (see picture 12) and a small scratch on the left hand side handlebar weight (see picture 11). That is all the damage that is on it.
Originally developed to take on the famous Yamaha OW01 and the legendary Honda RC30 (I have an standard UK spec RC30 which will also be for sale very soon. watch this space) which in 1992/3 it won hands down. The bike rides like new and is easy to forget that she is over 20 years old. Having covered only 9806 dry miles from new it has not been on the road much. If you are looking for a K1 to add to your collection then this is the one.
Very similar in looks to the ZXR750J but radically different underneath and more power. The most obvious changes are the hand made aluminium fuel tank. slipper clutch. close ratio gearbox. magnesium engine covers and cam cover. single seat unit. uprated front suspension. super adjustable rear suspension and Keihin flat slide carburettors (which make a beautiful warbling sound). Kawasaki really pulled out all the stops when they produced this bike. Rumour has it that there were only 120ish UK spec bikes imported in 1992 and approximately 1000 produced in total although many would have ended up in a gravel trap somewhere. An instant collectors item and rapidly becoming an investment. It can only appreciate in value.
It has had a full service and the valves have been reground and the shims redone by RMC in Retford as the compression on cylinder 4 was slightly down (142 psi compared with 154psi cylinder 1) Still within the manufacturers 10% threshold but as I mentioned previously the bike has never wanted for anything. The piston rings were also replaced while the engine was apart although there were no visible signs of wear. New valve stem seals etc. All replacement parts fitted are genuine Kawasaki.
It has nearly new Pirelli Diablo Corsa 3's front and rear. brand new battery. recent chain and sprockets and recent brake pads all round. Its has just had a full detail and polish by Deeper Detail and she looks amazing. Comes with the original Kawasaki toolkit. original owners handbook. Kawasaki workshop manual. Harris front and rear paddock stands. new motorcycle cover and 12months MOT. I also have a lot of the previous MOT certificates to confirm the mileage but the condition also does that.
If I get the asking price I will deliver it anywhere in mainland UK for free but please contact me first to confirm this and I would require a £500 deposit before I set off. Unfortunately I cannot allow any test rides unless I have cleared funds in my hand or bank account. I will accept cash on collection/delivery. bank transfer or at the very last resort Paypal!
I am selling the bike purely because me and my family will soon be emigrating to Australia and it is too expensive to take it with me otherwise it would be staying in the family. If you need any more pictures or information please do not hesitate to ask. No silly offers please. Anyone who knows about Kawasaki's knows just how special and rare these machines are and will also know what they are worth.
My number is 07946182113.
Many thanks for looking.
Regards Ashley
