Description

A rare item in the UK. a fully restored Laverda 750 twin.  Purchased and restored to a high standard to keep 'forever' but a need for cash means it may have to go. No expense spared. even the headlamp reflector was resilvered! Anything showing any sign of detoriation was repaired. efinished or replaced. ???s spent on it and it is now probobaly better than when it left the factory over 40years ago. The Jota stole the limelight with its brute power and prescence whilst the 750 quietly outsold it to the discerning rider who understood there is more than BHP to a motorcycle. Very succesfull in endurance racing just like its bigger brother the 750s gentle lines and classic engine layout made it the choice of many who did not want the animal that the 1000cc bikes were. Beatifully built to last many are still around today showing the patinia of the many miles they are capable of. The engine is an exercise in overengineering. huge ball bearings support a heavy crank and even the cams run in large ball bearings. The alloy castings are top quality and are unlacqered as they have few impurities in the metal to sweat out or dull the polished finish. The mk3 used Nippon Denso switchgear and clocks (just like Honda's 750). Bosch electrics saw to the reliablity of the starting. Three Brembo discs stopped it. The best stuff available really. It was an expensive bike new though. if you have to ask. then you probobaly cant afford it!This bike has won a first prize the only time its been out!  Its a joy to look at. You will find cheaper bikes for sure. but this one has had a very full mechanical and aesthetic restoration and like most restorations that are done down to the smallest details its probobaly cost more than it will make today. Hundreds of hours of labour went into the fully documented restoration and there are a file of receipts and photos to prove it all. A selection of pictures shows some of the work completed. the snowy picture is of the bike before works were carried out. it wasnt a tatty bike even then. One shows it with its 1st prize rossette. A joy to have owned and sure to give a new owner much pleasure. just sitting looking at it is pleasurable. its a beauty. If you want something different this has to be on your shortlist.
