montesa cota 247

Montesa Cota 247   - I have owned this for a number of years - stripped it to restore - moved house and brought the bits with me and then it languished in a shed for the last year in bits until about a week ago!

I am not going to get around to finishing it so - up for sale with no reserve!

The frame was shot blasted and has had a coating applied which is guaranteed not to rust in 10 years - then cellulose painted in grey. The frame is good other than an agricultural weld to the rear mudguard bracket - it is sound but not as pretty as it could be!

Rear tyre is shot needs replacing - other than that it has new levers - exhaust connectors are new ( original montesa). the throttle is original new Montesa.

The tank cover was in a bit of a state but I have repaired it - but to be honest it does really need some further work - the tank seems to be ok and the tap works!

The engine I have not done anything with however it has good compression - turns over well - the electrics side needs work although it does have a brand new coil. I can get the gears on the bench without a problem. I suspect the Motoplat may need replacing or re-wiring but that is not too expensive and I have factored that in the price. The wheels look ok to me.

That is about it - I do have the other foot peg and the exhaust. just not fitted it. You are welcome to come and have a look just let me know
