Description

You are looking at my MZ project which I have no time to complete as I have started out in self employment. I bought it in Poesneck Germany 5 yrs ago as a barn find. Under the paint it is NVA green so is ex-military and I have NO documentation with this bike. The first 3 pics show the bike with the forms I made for a Fairing and seat hump. they are NOT the fibreglass parts. The front hub is a bead-blasted Honda TLS unit with the mech turned upside-down for hydraulic operation. It has been re-laced with new rustless spokes to a rim which has been bead-blasted and the edges polished. It has a new TT100 style Dunlop tyre fitted. The rear hub is  a bead-blasted TS 250 unit with an 18" MZ rim fitted to speed up the steering. it is treated the same way as the front and is also fitted with the same type of new tyre and tube.

Pic 4 shows the moulds taken for the body parts as well as a finished fibreglass seat-base I made (It was going to be a solo/dual converter). The fairing styling mirrors the Steib Super-elastic side-car often fitted to these bikes. even with a ribbed front face.

The 5th pic shows the type of bike I normally build and I hope it testifies to my work on the MZ.

Pic 6 shows the engine I had intended to fit which is a 5-speed TS250/1 bottom-end and cylinder with a TS250 head ( I intended to have the cylinder tuned and was going to add a boss to the underside of the spine to take the later rubber engine mount thus rubber mounting the engine top and bottom. I have a cyl head rubber and holder included but not pictured. ). This is all intended to give a look close to the trophy. but 5-speed. All castings have been bead-blasted and new bearings. gaskets and seals fitted or waiting. There is a Keihin 34mm flat-slide carb which I was intending to use on this engine if I had it tuned.  The crankcases have been expertly modified underneath to take the rubber mount of the trophy.

Pic 7 shows a TS250/1 crank with brand-new rod and bearings fitted and also a brand new PowerDynamo generator/ignition unit alone costing ??200. There are also new cylinder studs/nuts and crank seals and a new exhaust nut.

Pic 8 shows brand new enamelled badges. new engine mounts. a full set of new motor fasteners. nbsp; all the new springs for engine build. a new gear-box top-up plug. new tank/headlamp trim seals. new pillion-rests mimicking the originals but smaller and a DDR shield!

Pic 9 shows a brand new wiring loom and diagram plus a very pretty filler-cap comemorating ISDE wins.

Pic 10 shows 5-speed gear-box internals with all worn parts replaced inc. some gears and a fork. On the upper shaft you can see I have machined a phosphor-bronze bush of a better fit than the original to help gear selection.

Pic 11 shows the front brake in mock-up as now is.

Pic 12 shows some other stuff like a carrier to fit the frame some new bar-end indicators and original DDR pump and tyre guage!

Also in the pics are an as yet un-chromed pair of slightly sportier ace type bars I have made.

Apologies but the original Trophy shocks were sold as were not up to what was intended.

EVERYTHING in the pics is included in the sale.
