MOTO GUZZI CALIFORNIA 1100 CARB FULL GENUINE LUGGAGE ITALIAN V TWIN SHAFT DRIVE

 This is the Classic. and quite rare. oto Guzzi 1100cc California Carb version. This bike has the traditional Moto guzzi V twin air cooled engine. a 5 speed gearbox and shaft drive. All these are practically UN-burstable. Anyone who knows Guzzi's knows that they are built to lasts for years. They have dual skin stainless steel exhaust systems and high quality paint. so they keep their appearance for many years to come.  This model also features some very high spec components i. e. Brembo brakes. Bitubo forks and Magneti Marelli engine management. These bikes are fantastic to ride and have a very distinctive cool image. The California was launched in the mid 70's with the T3 California. and over the years has evolved into the iconic model you see today. This is the first of the 1100 series. It was launched in 1994 and nearly all were fuel injected. A few. like this one. were built using Dellorto carburetors and Magneti Marelli electronic ignition. The California has always been Moto Guzzi's flag ship model. It is very comfortable and an excellent touring bike. The bike handles extremely well and has a very useful tank range of up to 200 miles. If you have never ridden a California. you are in for a real surprise. I have never ridden a bike with custom styling that corners like a California. They are amazing. The handling and brakes are superb. Most custom style bikes feel a bit soft and lazy but not these. They feel like a regular motorcycle. They also feature a fantastic linked braking system. The fuel economy is good as well. As this is a very low revving bike. you should be able to achieve approx' 55 mpg. if the fueling is set correctly. and this one is set up as good as they can be (set up by myself with all the necessary equipment and 25 years of Guzzi experience). The fit and finish is superb. Service intervals are every 6. 00 miles and service costs are very reasonable compared to similar bikes. This particular bike is totally standard. but is fitted with lots of Genuine Moto Guzzi extra's. Moto Guzzi genuine 40 litre hard panniers and Top case (made by German company Hepco & Becker) and large Moto Guzzi touring screen. The luggage is very well made and waterproof. It can fit lots inside and is expensive to buy separately. so it adds great value to this machine. It has covered 22. 81 miles from brand new. A California is good for 200. 00 if looked after. and the clutches usually last 80-100. 00 miles. This bike has been fully serviced by myself. a factory trained Moto Guzzi Technician with 25 years experience on Moto Guzzi alone.  The carbonation and ignition has been set up correctly. the bike has also being serviced by myself. and I also know the last 2 owners of this bike. as they are long term customers of mine. The bike has been HPI checked. and found to be clear. I have also checked that there are no outstanding recall or product update campaigns  on this bike.  Any inspection of this bike is welcome. I have been in the Motorcycle trade since 1990. most of that time as a factory trained technician specialising in Italian motorcycles. I have had my time wasted by people offering so called mint vehicles. I would not do the same to others. My descriptions are fair and accurate. Anyone who has dealt with me before would testify to this.  I know California's very well indeed. I would be surprised if you could find a better one on sale today. The bike is 18 years old so it is not perfect but given its age it's as good as you could expect it to be. The wheel centers still have great paint on them. the mudguards have no rust on them and the rear guard has not been dented (witch is common if the mudguard is hit). The bike has been looked after by its previous keepers. There will be one or two cosmetic flaws given it's age. but nothing to detract from it's overall condition. The paint is in outstanding condition. bright. glossy and without scratches. scrapes or dents. apart from a small chip on the bottom edge of the rear mudguard (clearly seen in the pictures). The metalwork is all very good including linkages. this indicates the bike has never been out in really bad weather as these are the 1st to go. The tyres are in excellent condition with many miles left in them.  The bike has just been serviced by myself and will have a full independent MOT before delivery.   My knowledge of Moto Guzzi  twins is second to none.
