I have to sell my new to me '93 Guzzi Daytona. I've managed a hundred or so miles on it and it's an amazing piece of machinery. best bike I've ever ridden but it's very much a sport bike. which I didn't expect. Here's a better overview of the bike than I could write: http://www. motorcyclespecs. co. za/model/moto%20guzzi/moto_guzzi_daytona%201000%2092. htm This particular bike is famous and collectible as it's the actual bike on the cover of Mick Walker's definitive tome of all bikes Guzzi. "Moto Guzzi Buyers Guide": he states the Daytona is one of the two best bikes Guzzi ever made. If you notice the VIN it's number 00005. I think that makes it the fifth production Daytona ever made. It's a great runner. amazing handling and more power than you'd expect. It's had a recent engine rebuild. threw a rod. probably because it had a Power Commander installed and the engine ran too lean. The then owner decided on a factory Race Kit A after the rebuild and now it's like a greyhound: low steady rpm makes it nervous. but with the throttle on it's amazing power and always wants to get serious. It could probably use a little more tuning but a raucous sweet music comes from the exhaust. it's quite the symphony and must be played loud. The original owner painted it black and powder-coated the wheels gold so now it looks like no other Daytona. There's a little rise around the gas cap and some scratches here and there but when you walk up to this thing you can't but go Wow. Upgrades are the aforementioned Race Kit. floating front brake rotors. Termignoni exhaust. Marzocchi forks and a Works Performance shock. as well as a BMW style charging plug. The only thing that doesn't work is the floppy right rear mirror which I've ordered but like all Guzzi parts takes a while. I'll send it on to the buyer when it arrives. All stock parts come with the bike as well as all service documentation since new. Also comes with various period magazine reviews and other cool original documents including a letter from the Mandello factory in Italian. written on a typewriter. In 1994. The bike is advertised locally and on the enthusiasts websites. so I reserve the right to end the auction early. so use that Buy It Now button if you want it. This is a very special bike. I'd love for it to go to someone who understands the marque and the importance of this bike.
