norton model 50 with 500 es2 engine 1956

hi this is my norton model 50 1956 with es2 500 engine fitted that was how i got it and it must have  been fitted back in the day before it was laid up for 25 years. i have completely stripped and rebuilt this bike it took a year of my spare time any new parts were scourced from rgm motors who are very good but not cheap as you might know norton stuff is expensive. mechanically it was sound except for a exhaust valve guide. which was replaced . it was rebuilt with new gaskets and seals and is oiltight. the black gloss was undercoated with red oxide then coachpainted and looks very presentablenew tyres tubes and chains and sprockets i have fitted a mk1 concentric as the monobloc used to lose its tickover when on the sidestandit has and electronic regulator from a chap in bournemouth not a chinese one the replacement magdyno was rebuilt with new bearingsthe engine has no rattles and doesnt smoke an anti wet sumping valve is fittedthis bike runs really well its the best 500 single ive ever ridden. it really picks up its feet and revs out like a 250 with  no vibration it cruises at 70 doesnt slow down for hills just romps up them.  i have fitted a gold star silencer and it twitters like it should and sounds great. as you see i didnt go for the original look just fancied the tank to look like a john player norton. norton george has cast his eye over it and given it his seal of approval. why am i selling it . well i am an engineer with 40 years experience and i just love to do up old bikes and there is 3 more projects in the shed . so dont wait to win  the vmcc raffle buy this and ride it now the v5 is in my name it has a non transferable somerset reg.  it is currently still mot. although it is now exempt and is registered as historic tax which of course is free.
