VW Trike - Road Legal

Vw Phoenix Trike - Fully Road LegalHi. this is an ad for our very reluctant sale of our trike. we bought this as a unregistered project in the summer of 2008 and spent a considerable amount of time and money before finishing the build and getting her msva tested and fully registered with the dvla in dec 2008. The engine is a 1973 vw beetle 1300 twin port. which was supplied fully reconditioned when bought with the project and has covered less than 7000 miles since then. The rear suspension is the beetle irs system which means the trike holds the road really well. The engine has a crash protection cage fitted and there are also leg protection bars fitted for the rider. The front end. wheel. forks. steering etc are all Harley Davidson. The bodywork is a heavily customised phoenix body. (which in their original state were quite thin). this one has been substantially strengthened and wheel arches widened to accommodate wider wheels. There is also an hatch built in to the body for easy access to the engine. (The engine will actually come out via the hatch). The body modifications and dummy fuel tank and bespoke rear light pods were all professionally done by a specialist grp company. The frame has also been strengthened and is fitted with a tow bar. 2 top boxes (only one fitted at the moment). plus some spares including a spare carb and other bits and pieces. There is also a pile of paperwork for the parts purchased during the buildI can also supply a compact disc containing photos of the complete build process. Bad bits. there are a few minor scratches and chips in paint. see photos. Not been run much recently so will probably benefit from an engine service / oil change.
