This unusual and rare scooter belonged to a friend of mine in our village and is for sale on behalf of his missus.
Velocette Viceroy 250cc scooter with horizontally opposed twin cylinder two stroke engine. 4 speed foot change so no fiddly cable/twistgrip gears. Shaft drive with proper telescopic front forks straight off the legendary LE motorbike.
Quality built by the famous Velocette factory of Hall Green Birmingham it cost ?198 new when a basic Lambretta was ?129. Built for only a few year`s it was a well balanced. good handling deluxe scooter.
This one has been dry stored for over 25 years and still coated in garage dust. Not tried to start it and it looks to be 12v electric start with the original two 6v motorcycle batteries in place under the seat . obviously flat as floorboards. Engine turns over when pushed in gear with good compression so gears/clutch and transmission (shaft drive) also work. Controls are free and smooth. tyres hold air.
Comes with original handbook/service manual/guarantee etc. We have the V5c and number is transferable. Last MOT`d 1980 in Ilkley. Yorkshire.

From information received the bike was supplied via Baines of Harrogate to Mr G. Lancaster of Addingham nr. Ilkley it is number 531 of only 690 sold. The first owner must have toured it to do the miles of 80. 97 on the MOTC and then just parked it at 80. 99 . with the dry storage since it is probably still MOT able. maybe tyres will need replacing. nbsp;tempted to have it running but will leave that to the new owner. Screen is cracked and I don`t know what the tape on the headlight is doing. Lucas indicators fitted plus rear carrier as accessories.
Re-listed this morning as ebay chose to remove at 1:30am `cos they didn`t like Lambretta in the heading. Shorter auction this time. Hey ho
