1964 175cc Maico Scrambler Has not been run since restoration Originally owned. modified and raced by “Frosty” Leiderbrand. a successful local racer from Omaha. Nebraska. Frosty’s hay days were in the mid-fifties and was a hero of the previous owner and restorer who had purchased his first motorcycle from Frosty. He purchased this bike in 1993 from the second owner and it was started and run prior to the restoration. The bike has spark and compression but has not been started since its purchase in 2012. Also included in the sale are copies from Cycle Magazine documenting some of Frosty’s successes and an actual ad from Maico Motor Company published in Cycle/March 1963 for this model. We have clear title and sales documentation from the 2012 auction as well as a cover letter sent by the previous owner with the magazine articles. This Maico has sat in a static display since 2012. It would make a very nice and proud addition to any Maico enthusiast’s collection. Since we have not started or run the bike and have no firsthand knowledge of the history we cannot guarantee the accuracy but at the same time we have no reason to doubt any of it. The bike is sold as is without any guarantee. We will assist in shipping in any way we can but the costs are the responsibility of the buyer. Deposit due at auction close and must be made within 48 hours. Stated mileage is not correct. There is no odometer since this is a off-road motorcycle and it's impossible to know the actual mileage. The bike is located in San Carlos. CA about 20 minutes south of San Francisco. Local buyers or agents are encouraged to view the bike in person. Please contact me with any questions or if you'd like photos of any specific area.
