1951 AJS 18S motorcycle Matchless cafe racer

This is a 1951 AJS 18S single cylinder 500cc motorcycle. (I put Matchless in the description also because the AJS and Matchless models at the time were pretty much the same other than model designation.)
I bought this a couple of years ago to play with but because life and work got in the way, t has sat untouched in my garage ever since, ooking cool. I have not started it since I got it, lthough the previous owner stated that he used it a good bit for cruising around. As you can see, t is not exactly original, s the previous owner modded it to look like a cafe racer of the era. The engine turns over fine; the clutch seems to work, he brakes seem to work, tc. I believe that the frame number and the engine number match. The carb is not original, ut I am told it works better than the original did. The AJS 18S was a workhouse back in the day and was a very reliable ride.
So, ou are purchasing exactly what you see here. I have not run it, o I cannot vouch for how it runs. Everything seems to be there, xcept for the dynamo, hich is not on the bike. The dynamo generates electricity when the bike is running to supply the lights. Bikes can run fine without this--on this bike, he previous owner put on a LED headlight and LED stop light that run directly off the battery.
It needs a new owner that is interested in these cool old bikes and has the time to get it running and have fun. I am in Orlando if you want to have a look at it. It is also for sale locally and may be sold locally if there is no existing bid.
