yamaha xt500 5R1 1981 big thumper complete and running xt 500

this is an xt500 i brought earlier this year. since then i have through a friend picked up another one so this one is up for sale.

it is a south africa import it has the important NOVA paper work and a copy of the original SA title so registering is as straight forward as it can be.

it is a nice bike good runner and starter . pulls well and rides real nice.

however it has a few faults and needs some love.

wiring need sorting as the loom has been modified/chopped about . it has no brake lights connected and kill switch is not functional although i think it has just come away from coils.

indicators are very slow possibly relay or earth problem.

some one has welded the gear change on doesnt affect bike but is not great.

petrol tank is great

seat has gone hard in the SA sun and needs a fixing kit as the strap holds it on at the moment

rims/spokes/hubs have been powder coated and kinda suit the bike

it has a very nice stainless steel exhaust fitted

and has the tool kit holder complete with tools

new battery and good tyres

it will be a good nice looking xt if you sort these items or a good base for a full restoration project

so to recap its a nice xt that needs a few hours and its ready to go
