Description

For Auction is this Matchless G3L in 'Enduro' trim. I have owned this vehicle for over two years and bought it with the intention of creating a Classic 'Motocross' bike. Sadly. I haven't got round to it and there are other bikes in front of this that are needing my attention and funds. The Bike is UK registered and the V5C is in my name and the modern type. On looking at the photos you will have already spotted that the tank and rear light are probably Japanese in origin. two of the engine castings have had some kind of CNC machining done to them. and the mudguards are not the original ones.  The bike is a 'runner' and starts pretty much on the first or second kick. There are no 'nasty noises' from the engine. however it does backfire a little bit. which is probably down to the fact that the exhaust down pipe is rusty and might have a hole in it. This is relatively inexpensive and can be bought new from most good dealers or at an auto jumble. I have taken the bike around the forest and fields near to where I live without any problems. I say this as the bike is has a magneto and these are unpredictable components at the best of times. so I can only vouch for it's reliability over a 30 minute run?ˆ¦?ˆ¦ not a two hour 'ride out'. It is basically a good starting base for a running restoration project. You can either buy it to carry on with the idea that I had for it or turn it back to an original example or keep it as it is. It is sold with no warranty and strictly as a project. Therefore things do need adjusting and tightening up (commissioning). if you see what I mean. before taking it on the road. With regards it's history. I do not believe it has been on the road since 1995. so the taxation class is still 'Bicycle' not 'Historical Vehicle'. This is easy enough to change and does not cost anything to my knowledge. However I do have an MOT certificate from July 2010. where the previous owner did intend to put it on the road again.  I can supply more photos on request and will try to answer any sensible questions to the best of my ability. The motorcycle is currently with me in France. however do not panic. I have timed this auction to end on the 22nd of October as I am due to return to the UK with it so I can attend the Kempton Park Autojumble on the Saturday 25th October. Therefore collection or delivery options are as follows:1 - Collection from Kempton Park Autojumble on Saturday 25th October. I will give the winning buyer my number accordingly. 2 - Collection from an address in the Banbury area from Sunday 26th October. 3 - I arrive in the UK on the afternoon of Friday 24th October and can deliver the bike to an address 'en route' to Kempton Park from Folkstone Eurotunnel Terminal if required. however there will be a small charge for fuel dependant on your location. I am happy to discuss this accordingly. 4 - I return to France on the afternoon of Monday 27th October and can deliver the bike if you are 'en route' from Banbury to Portsmouth. Details the same as above. This is strictly a cash on collection transaction as the bike is part of my personal collection and not a business item.  I do not wish to accept part exchanges.  Finally. I listed this as a 'barn find' as seems to be the done thing at the moment with all old vehicles. But in truth. this is where I find it every day?ˆ¦?ˆ¦ in the barn!
