YAMAHA SR250 1980 FLAT TRACKER SAND RACER STREET TRACKER OLD SKOOL

THIS RELUCTANT AUCTION IS FOR MY 1980 YAMAHA SR 250 FLAT TRACKER PROJECT BUILD V5 PRESENT THIS BIKE IS VIRTUALLY FINISHED BUT DUE TO UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES IT HAS TO GO. looks sweet!! This is a bike originally built in 2008 from a Yamaha SR250 to compete in the Mablethorpe sand racing championship where it came 1st and 3rd in its class Firstly the bike is heavily modified to make it nice and light and suited to sand racing. This means that it has no generator or magneto and the coils and spark plug are powered by a small 12volt battery mounted under the seat. This battery goes flat after about 2-3 hours use but if you put a regular size motor cycle battery on it would last for about 20hours i guess. This system means the wiring loom is basically 2 wires running to earth and the coil so it's very simple. The bike must be push started as the starter motor and starter clutch have been removed. and also there is only a rear brake mounted on the handlebars. proper flat tracker style!! The bike has an open exhaust and was extremely loud. but a standard exhaust could be fitted if you wanted to. The following modifications have been carried out: BRAND NEW 32mm forks with caliper bracket Motocross wheels and brand new flat tracker style 19" tyres fitted Motocross rear shock absorbers but these will need changing as they are too hard. Ported and skimmed cylinder head. New spark plug Open exhaust Enamel painted frame and swinging arm etc. New oil filter. side cover gasket and oil were changed when the engine was Painted. New Flat track seat unit in yellow gelcoat with racefoam seat padding. Painted tank Yamaha Speedblock decals. Brand new wide tracker handlebars and grips New clutch lever. clutch plates and clutch cable. New race plates Handlebar mounted kill switch. Etc This bike hasn't been started in a while but the last time it was it ran like a dream. The engine is complete even though it shows in the pics with the casings off!. this is because they were taken off to be polished as in the last pic! . complete apart from the rotor as stated. I also have the throttle. throttle cable. rear brake lever & handlebar mounted master cyclinder. DID525 chain. motorcross tyres if wanted. front mudguard. spare clutch cable and plates and an extra seat unit . and probably some bits that i have missed out. As stated above. it does have a V5 but will need a front brake for mot. and possibly horn and lights. Collection preferrred but can send via a motorcycle collection courier for approx £90 or you can arrange your own but payment must be made in full first. £100 non returnable deposit via paypal or bank transfer upon auction end and then either cash on collection or via bank transfer.
