YOU ARE BIDDING ON MY BEAUTIFUL 1980 SUZUKI RM 250. SERIAL NUMBER #RM250-45873 THERE WAS NEVER A TITLE ISSUED THAT I KNOW OF AND THIS IS A STRICTLY OFF-ROAD DIRT BIKE. BACK IN THE DAY I USE TO RACE THIS SAME BIKE AND THIS IS IN VERY "RARE" CONDITION WHEN IT COMES TO A VINTAGE BIKES OF THIS AGE. AND YOU WILL BE ENVIED RIDING THIS AT ANY VINTAGE / AHRMA RACE OR FOR A COLLECTOR THAT WOULD LIKE TO DISPLAY IT / SHOW IT OFF. I AM RETIRED AND GOING TO BE SELLING OFF MY ENTIRE BIKE COLLECTION IN THE VERY NEAR FUTURE & THIS IS ACTUALLY ONE OF MY FAVORITES. THE LAST TIME THIS BIKE WAS ACTUALLY RIDDEN WAS IN 1982 "NO JOKE" AND WAS STORED IN A CLEAN DRY ENVIRONMENT. MOST BIKES OF THIS ERA WERE INDEED "RODE HARD AND PUT AWAY WET" AS THEY WERE INTENDED TO BE. SO FOR ME THAT MAKES THIS ONE VERY SPECIAL BEING IT WAS RETIRED AT A VERY YOUNG AGE !!!I HAVE TO ORIGINAL DEALER BILL OF SALE AND THE ORIGINAL SERVICE MANUAL FOR IT SOME WHERE SO HOPEFULLY I CAN FIND IT AND IF/ WHEN I FIND IT. IT WILL GO TO THE NEW OWNER AND IF FOUND WHILE THE AUCTION IS STILL RUNNING I WILL ADD PHOTOS OF THEM. CONDITION - AS FAR AS I KNOW IT REALLY NEEDS NOTHING !!!!!! AS FAR AS THE MAIN COMPONENTS ARE CONCERNED - IT IS ALL ORIGINAL DOWN TO THE BRIDGE-STONE TIRES (NO DRY ROT) THE SEAT (WITH NO HOLES AND NEVER RECOVERED) AND ALL OF THE PERIOD CORRECT PLASTICS (NO AFTERMARKET PLASTICS). WHICH ARE BETTER THAN PRESENTABLE CONDITION AND CRACK FREE. I DID A LIGHT RESTORATION ON IT ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO AND THE BIKE WAS COMPLETELY SERVICED INCLUDING CLEANING AND REPACKING THE NECK BEARINGS - SWING-ARM ECT. WHEN THE BIKE WAS NEAR NEW (BACK IN THE EARLY 80'S) THE CYLINDER WAS SHIPPED TO DG PERFORMANCE FOR PERFORMANCE WORK AND THE UNDER SIDE IS ACTUALLY ENGRAVED "DG" WHEN I FRESHENED HER UP A COUPLE YEARS AGO I HAD COMETIC GASKET RE-BORE IT AND BELIEVE IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY I WENT WITH A STOCK SUZUKI PISTON MAYBE 20 OVER. PLEASE NOTE - AFTER I WENT THROUGH THE BIKE I LITERALLY RODE IT DOWN MY DRIVEWAY AND BACK AND THEN I COMPLETELY DRAINED THE FUEL FROM THE TANK & CARBURETOR TO ELIMINATE ANY COMMON BAD FUEL ISSUES. SO THE BIKE WILL NEED BROKE IN. BUT I CAN TELL YOU FOR-SURE IT RAN GREAT WITH OUT ANY ISSUES. AND IF YOU ARE A SERIOUS / CURRENT WINNING BIDDER & MY RESERVE IS MET I WILL GLADLY RUN FUEL THROUGH IT AND FIRE IT UP. BECAUSE I WANT THE NEW OWNER TO BE COMPLETELY SATISFIED WITH THE PURCHASE BEFORE IT LEAVES ME. THE FEW THINGS THAT ARE NOT STOCK ARE THE GRIPS - LEVERS (BUT PERCHES & DUST COVERS ARE) THE THROTTLE ASSEMBLY - DECALS & FRONT SHOCK BOOTS. THE SILENCER IS ORIGINAL AND DOES HAVE SOME DENTS BUT IS SOLID AND 100% FUNCTIONAL. I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR A MINT ONE BUT HAVEN'T HAD MUCH LUCK DO DATE. ALSO THE HANDLE BARS ARE ORIGINAL AND HAVE A "VERY SLIGHT" TWEAK IN THEM BUT THEY ARE TO NICE TO CHANGE AND ALSO COMPLETELY FUNCTIONAL. I REALLY WANTED TO KEEP THE BIKE AS ORIGINAL AS POSSIBLE BECAUSE I FELT BEING AS OLD AS IT IS - IT DESERVES IT.
