Suzuki SV650 SL2 Motorcycle - Motorbike - 2012 Model

Description

2012 Suzuki SV650s – Fully Faired Sports Bike.  

I am selling my beloved SV650 as my work now requires me to have a car. I have owned this bike from new and it is the 2012 SL2 model. purchased from Alfords of Folkestone [Suzuki Dealership] in September 2012.  

Mileage is currently 16. 47 - The accumulated miles have been mostly motorway cruising and all servicing has been completed by myself. I have refused to pay the over the odds dealer servicing price as all servicing has been within my remit. Mileage will increase over the course of the auction slightly as I may need to use the bike a few more times.  

The bike looks great in white with the blue racing stripes - and with the full fairings. it looks like a true Super sports bike – however you will benefit from cheap insurance and excellent fuel economy. I can get 240 miles from a tank of fuel from this bike without question and that costs me ?18.

The bike had the additional years warranty and the total of this was three years. therefore the warranty remains in place until September 2015

I have added some tasteful and practical modifications to the bike since purchasing it. Please see details below.  

Yoshirmura TRS Stubby Exhaust – sounds incredible and other cars will hear you approaching. I do have the original exhaust and I’m including this with the sale. should you prefer to quieten down the bike. Daytona Heated Grips – Mounted controls on handlebars. lovely and warm!K&N Air Filter – Much less restrictive than the paper OEM model. this is does not need to be replaced. simply clean. oil and replace the filter at each service. It certainly adds a growl to the induction noise!Genuine SV650 crash bungs – these are there to protect the bike should it fall over [bike has never been dropped] but with the expensive fairings. it’s well worth having these!Smoked double bubble screen – better wind protection than the original screen and has a nice. but muted smoke effect. Tail Tidy with LED Indicator lights.  

The bike is currently located in Crawley. West Sussex – however I can arrange for the bike to be view at my parents in Wimbledon/Raynes Park. SW20 – should that be easier for the buyer.  Bike will only be sold from these two locations so please don’t ask for me to bring the bike to you or to meet in a service station. I am a genuine seller looking for a genuine buyer.

Log book is in hand. Please note – if you wish to test ride the bike. I will require cash to be handed to me before allowing you to ride it – we can discuss this if you’re interested.

4. 00m Service

This was completed by myself. at a mileage of 3. 48 on 4th May 2013 – items purchased from Bike Devils. with receipt to show purchases.  

In addition to the oil and filters purchased and changed. I completed inspection of the following:

Air Cleaner [K&N aftermarket. cleaned and oiled]Inspection of spark plugs. tips cleaned. Replacements not required. Fuel hose inspectionEngine Idle speed checked. Throttle & clutch cables checked/lubricatedRadiator and coolant checkedBrakes – Hoses. discs and pads checked. replacements not required. Brake fluid checked – levels were fine. Replacing not required until September 2014Other checks involving steering. forks and rear suspensionExhaust mountings tightenedChassis Bolts – tighten and checked against recommended torque settings – no material changes noted.

 

7. 00m Service

This was completed by myself. at a mileage of 7. 80 on 14th September 2013 – items purchased from Bike Devils. receipt attached.

In addition to the oil and filters purchased and changed. I completed inspection of the following:

This was completed by myself. at a mileage of 9. 82 on 4th March 2014 – no receipt attached for this – oil used was left over from service carried out in September.

In addition to the oil and filters changed. I completed inspection of the following:

Air Cleaner [K&N aftermarket. cleaned and oiled]Spark Plugs replaced with NGK Iridium plugs. Fuel hose inspectionEngine Idle speed checked. Throttle & clutch cables checked/lubricatedRadiator coolant changed and replaced. Brakes – Replaced front and Rear Brake Pads with EBC Pads. Brake caliper seals replaced on rear brakes along with piston clean and rebuild. – [completed at 12. 00 miles]Brake fluid replaced on rear brakes. Front Fluid to be changed in February 2015. Other checks involving steering. forks and rear suspensionExhaust mountings tightenedChassis Bolts – tighten and checked against recommended torque settings – no material changes noted.

 

15. 00m Service

This is about to be completed by myself. at a mileage of approx. 17. 00 on February 21st 2015 – full service

In addition to an oil and filter change. I completed inspection of the following:

Air Cleaner [K&N aftermarket. cleaned and oiled]Fuel hose inspectionEngine Idle speed checked. Throttle & clutch cables checked/lubricatedRadiator and coolant checkedBrakes – Rear brake checked and cleaned. Front Brake rebuild – new piston seals. pistons cleaned and re-seated and fully lubricatedBrake fluid replaced both front and rear. Other checks involving steering. forks and rear suspensionExhaust mountings tightenedChassis Bolts – tighten and checked against recommended torque settings – no material changes noted.

Although front brake pads were added at the 11. 00 mile service. I had an issue with the semi-floating brake disc bobbins – allowing the disc to float on the axel more than it should do. I contacted Suzuki and I had both front bake discs and new pads put in at 14. 30 miles – paperwork is held on file with P&H in Crawley [no receipt issued for warranty work] date work was completed was 04. 11. 14 - all genuine Suzuki parts used. In addition to the above. the common ‘green plug’ problem with SV650s has been fixed under warranty by Metropolis of Vauxhall in London. The ignition switch has now been hard wired into the wiring loom resolving the issue where water gets in and causes the bike to cut out – this was a hard fought argument with Suzuki and I’m very glad they agreed to do the work Bridgestone BT021 Tyres. in good condition. Much. Much better than the standard Dunlop’s. providing a noticeable level of improved traction and safety in the corners.

Very. very small dent on the top/side of the petrol tank. half the size of my little finger nail. Paint is not broken and it's barely noticeable. Very cheap to repair. but I don't have the time to do it.
