This big old solid 1980 Suzuki GS850G has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the air is thin and the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours. This and the fact it's only showing 2081 miles and has been in dry storage for the last umpteen years have helped maintain its boyish good looks. PLEASE CHECKOUT THE PICTURES. As you can see this bike is very nearly complete missing just the Ignition key. front brake master cylinder. l/h airbox cover & mirrors. The bike has obviously stood a while so the seat cover is perished. Sadly the fuel tank is covered in little dents/scratches. BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS. The bike is every bit as solid as it looks here. The wheels are straight with nice clean discs & calipers. Forks & yokes look straight with good chrome. Mudguard is solid. Tail light assy is good as are the headlight & hangers. Instruments & switches look ok. Carburetors are free sliding off the twist grip. Exhaust system is original & solid. The engine is cosmetically very clean – When we bypassed the ignition. hooked it up to a good battery & fed it a few squirts of ether it starts & runs but the carbs do need cleaning. The bike is currently unregistered. The registration process is reasonably uncomplicated.

We HAVE NOT got the certificate of title but we will provide proof that VAT & Duty is paid on the NOVA system.

REGISTRATION

1. You need to get the bike MOT’d.

2. You need to prove the year of manufacture in writing. Phone Suzuki UKs customer support on 0500 011959 (press opt 2 & opt 2 again) with the Model type. frame & engine Numbers. they will organize an application for a dating letter – there is a charge for this service.

3. You need to have valid insurance on the bike. You can insure it on the chassis number.

4. Send all this paper work to the DVLA. who will charge you ?55 for the 1st registration & the current amount for the road tax.

5. The DVLA will send you your age related registration number.
