Description

I am selling my 1989 GSXR 1100 track bike due to health issues "back" and job " military" that have limited me to not riding any of my bikes for a long time or very little. I have owned this bike since 2004 and it has been very reliable and fun. The bike has 18k on it and it has been a track bike for about 4 years. I have only ridden it about 10-15 times on the track " never laid down" and other than that it was ridden up and down the street and around the neighborhood or small trips around town to keep things in good shape...been of the road since 2012.
The bike was originally black and gray and I had it painted back in 07 in the Barry Sheene scheme you see now. The scraps on the lower ends of the side panels are from the lean angles at the track. The bike is also missing the upper side flat panels seen in the pictures above the air scoop tubes...lost in a move along with the headlight bucket and light wiring harness and some other small ends.
The bike has:1127 CC with original miles-compression check is 190-190-185-192 still tight with cross hatches still on cylinders.Web drop in cams-set straight-up need to be degreed grind# 236/223 valve lift 370* duration 270* duration @.050 246* these are all intake.I have the cam info card for maintenance!New APE Valve springs and valve guide seals last summer. Also hardened APE rocker arms.Carbs are 36MM Mikuni flat side jetted for Nebraska 700'-900' above see level.Pingel guzzler pet-cock.K/N filters.Accel super coils and wires.5* Yoshimura ignition advancer---DEGREE THOSE CAMS...COMES ON HARD!Sudco Full exhaustThe clutch is in good shape being about three years old but also did a cable conversion from hydraulic using a Katana set-up...like this better.Forks have progressive fork springs/new seals this winter and Maxima 10 weight racing fork oil.Front calipers are 6-pot of a 96 1100--better braking and the rotors are drilled. The rear has a Galfer wave rotor and the sprockets are Sprocket Specialties 520 chain conversion with RK GB520GXW Gold o-ring chain.Rims are standard size up front with a 5.50" in the back. The swing arm is a 90 GSXR 750...shorter but the bike handles and turns in better...for me.Tires are Dunlop Sportmax GPA race tires. 190-60-17 and 120-70-17. These have 2 track days on them. The rear shock was changed to an 06 GSXR 1000 which had less than 200 miles on it. The spring rate was a little softer than a race spring for the original shock and this shock is easier to get parts for. 215LBS rider.Has a rare Yoshimura upper billet triple clamp also.I have an extra wind shield and a small amount of parts...some lost in a move a few years ago...sorry.Bike does has a set of keys...one for the seat and a set for the ignition. The ignition is key on/black button start. The bike could be street legal if you hook up brake light and one small headlamp and basic wiring. I have maintained the bike regularly with Brad Penn 10-40 synthetic race oil///brake oil///fork oil and valve adjustments and plug changes. The bike is fun to ride and handles surprisingly well on the track and the road. I have tried to give the best description of the bike and if you have any questions please email me. Bike has a clear NEBRASKA title. Also have a factory service manual for it too. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
