1976 SUZUKI RE5 SURVIVOR - 17354 MILES - WANKEL ENGINE

I have a 1976 Suzuki RE5 survivor motorcycle up for auction.   I have only owned this bike for a short time but I will tell you what I know.   In 2005 the previous owner tells me it was running when it lost spark and has not ran since.   The only test I have done is I removed the plug. shot some oil in the chamber. kicked it over.  It spins freely.   Then I reinstalled the spark plug and it seems to have nice uniform compression.   It has one set of breaker points installed but I believe originally it would have had two?

I am selling this as a NON-RUNNING bike. AS IS. WHERE IS. NO WARRANTIES OR GUARANTEES.  

As you can see by the pictures the bike appears to have been always well cared for. probably mostly stored inside.   If you notice. one of my pictures shows the mirror. you can see where the previous owner(s) never removed the protective coating from either mirror.   I peeled a small portion back to show the protective coating. BUT some of it had burned through from sunlight and there appears to be corrosion marks on both mirrors that may not clean up once the coating is removed.  

The seat appears to be near perfect. top and bottom.   It may be the original. but do NOT know for sure.   The gauges are in very good condition and are not faded or cracked like a bike that has sat out in the sun.

The front brakes do not work.   The master cylinder is not collapsed. it seems to work but the calliper pistons are seized and do not let it grip the front linings.   Therefore. the front brakes do not work.   The rear brakes work as they should.

There is some minor pitting on some of the chrome. muffler. wheels. engine. etc.   (See photos).

There is a box of miscellanous parts and books.   Among the parts are a used oil filter; spark plugs including one new one; extra ignition coil; one plastic radiator grill cover fin that was broken but the piece is in the box; an open carburetor rebuild kit with parts missing; someone has removed the electrical connector that goes to the CDI box and hardwired it direct.   The original coupler is in the box of miscellaneous.  

Included with the bike is the original tool kit with case that is tucked in its spot under the seat. (only one set but also shows in a couple other photos.   Also included are the service manual and the 1976 A model changes update manual (appears to be a copy stapled together. but don't know for sure).   (See photo)

Bike has a clear FLORIDA USA title.

This would be a nice bike to put in your collection.   It would look good sitting beside other bikes from that era such as Norton Commando. Water Buffalo. Kawasaki Z1 900. Honda CB 750. Triumph Bonneville. widow maker. H1. H2. etc.
