1976 triumph 650 saint ex met police outrider m/cycle restoration project intact

this is a barn find ideal for restoration as all parts ( except saddle and fairing ) are present . the smiths clock shows the original mileage of  10781 . the engine and frame numbers are matching . bg48935 . the condition is fair for a bike of this age . the engine and gearbox are free and moving . it stands on its original TT100 roadmaster tyres . which seem to hold air  . also v5 log book and ignition key present and correct .

thanks to some very helpful fellow ebayers who know their Triumphs . it turns out this is a 1972 by the frame numbers which explains why it doesn't have disc brakes . the delay in registration is unknown . but one ebayer tells me there was industrial dispute ( what a surprise ) that may have affected delivery times . or that maybe when the receivers came in that they simply sold off old stock . if anyone knows more . id be glad to hear !

so . thanks to another knowledgeable ebayer . the registration is explainable . in 1972 the met bought everything the factory had available . as a job lot . to be pulled out of storage and registered as and when they were needed .
